Recently, these two lovelies, Emma and Leni, dropped into our shop with a donation for the Red Cross. They came up with the idea to sell biscuits in the village to raise funds specifically for our organisation. Thanks to the kind generous community, Emma and Leni achieved their goal. We are extremely grateful and thankful to the younger generations, some of whom volunteer at the shop.

How wonderful to be among inspiring nominees for the Northern Beaches Region NSW Volunteer of the Year 2024. The aim of the awards program is recognising the dedication, effort and community service of the state’s volunteers - individual and team contribution. Our Avalon Shop has a dedicated, enthusiastic team of 40 volunteers. Congratulations to all of our team and all those who choose to volunteer in some capacity across numerous organisations.

A beautiful collection of Burleigh Ware has been donated to our shop. The Satsuma design made C1930s. Whilst it is an incomplete set, it is in good condition.

Red Cross Shops sell new and preloved clothes, accessories and homewares to raise funds to help people experiencing crisis and hardship. Thanks to community donations and the help of volunteers, each year, millions of items are diverted from landfill. Funds raised by our shops ensure other Red Cross teams provide care and support where it is needed the most.

Today, two of our hard-working volunteers, Shirley and Tracey, were recognised for their long-term commitment to Red Cross. The 10 year Service Award and Certificate of Appreciation were presented at a morning tea attended by many of our volunteer team.

As a volunteer, you will be helping Red Cross support vulnerable people across Australia and Asia Pacific. As little as 4 hours per week will make a big difference.
