Welcome back to my art world. Today, I’m excited to share two of my most cherished works, both name as "The Real Big Bad Mama."

The first painting was born when I opened my shop in Surry Hills Australia. Back then, I kept thinking I need a hero "Big Big Bad Mama ~ Hummm.. it should definitely A Monther’s Love " So, I created a scene: a mother feeding two mischievous little twin demon babies. But don't be fooled by her gentle smile! Our Big Bad Mama is a perfect blend of tenderness and cheeky mischief, while her two little ones are full of playful energy, constantly causing chaos. This painting first hung from the ceiling of our Australian store, and every time you looked up, you'd feel the essence of motherhood—sweet, a little naughty, and brimming with strength.

Three month ago , when I planing to open the new shop in Taipei, I felt the urge to create another "Big Bad Mama" for this space. And so, the second painting was born! This time, she's even more confident and playful. The two adorable black little demon twins are nestled in her arms, happily enjoying their time with their mom, looking absolutely content and filled with love and mischief. Every brushstroke tells the story of how being a mother isn’t just about nurturing but also about embracing a wild, joyous adventure!

Now, this latest version of "The Real Big Bad Mama" is proudly displayed at the entrance of our Taipei shop. We welcome all of you to step into our little dark world and meet her! May you feel the warmth, playfulness, and fearless spirit she embodies. Whether you're gentle, mischievous, or a mix of both, every woman has a "Big Bad Mama" inside, ready to take on life’s most exciting and cheeky moments!

This artwork was created at the early stages of establishing the Bad Mama brand. I felt that if we were to name the restaurant "Bad Mama," it needed a piece that truly represented the essence of the brand. So, I created this piece called "Welcome to My Dark Side" to greet every guest stepping into the dark world of Bad Mama.

At that time, I was deeply captivated by Hayao Miyazaki’s films, especially the character No-Face from "Spirited Away." No-Face is a gentle spirit who becomes something else due to greed. I was fascinated by this character and pondered for a while on how to transform him into a symbol of Bad Mama’s spirit, conveying the core meaning of our charming and mysterious restaurant.

In the painting, No-Face holds a long rope with a seemingly innocent little girl tied to the other end. But don’t be fooled by her appearance; this little girl is actually a tiny devil, full of temptation and mischief. No-Face and the little girl are not adversaries but companions, welcoming and enticing those who dare to enter our dark world.

As for myself, although I’ve grown older and my appearance isn’t as youthful as before, inside, there’s still a crazy little black cat. I believe many of us feel the same way. As we age, we can't stop the changes in our appearance, but the mischievous little girl within us remains. This is the spirit of Bad Mama—no age boundaries. Whether you are a little girl, a mother, or a grandmother, the spirit of Bad Mama embraces all stages of womanhood.

So, don’t let aging make you hesitant. Instead, be more confident and joyful because, while our external appearance may change, we have the experience and wisdom accumulated over time. The inner little girl is still there, full of dreams and spirit.

In the world of Bad Mama’s art, each Bad Mama Lady has her own unique story and soul, and the Piano Lady is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting.🥰

It all began at the entrance of our alley on Dongming Road in Keelung, where Adam discovered a discarded piano. Once a teaching tool in an old school, it had been forsaken in favor of modern electronic keyboards. Yet, to us, it was not just junk—it was a Bad Mama Lady waiting to be reborn.🌹

Once Adam brought the piano to our studio, I began envisioning how to give it new life. Our collection of mannequins from closed clothing stores—each with missing parts—offered endless creative possibilities.👠

Creating the Piano Lady was like an artistic resurrection. I crafted an elegant and mysterious face, blending her mask seamlessly with the piano’s color. Her legs, inspired by a pair of high heels that matched the piano perfectly, added a touch of classic yet modern elegance.👗

The Piano Lady is not just a piece of art; she embodies the spirit of a strong and graceful woman reborn in the world of Bad Mama. Standing at the entrance of our Keelung store, she welcomes every visitor with poise. Her story is one of transformation and finding light in forgotten places.

🌹Bad Mama Ladies Art Gallery ～ Gemma.s ~ My Bad Mama Ladies ～

😻Today, I want to introduce one of my artworks, titled "Simba the Cat." This cat is not just any ordinary cat—Simba is an English hairless cat that my friend in New South Wales, Australia, adopted. He's incredibly affectionate, with a loud and unique voice, and his distinctive appearance and personality made me want to include him in my Bad Mama Ladies series.

😽Simba not only became one of the Bad Mama Ladies but also the star of two of my black cat-themed artworks. As a member of the Bad Mama Ladies, Simba naturally had to embody a sense of darkness and mystery. So, I created the first captivating piece, portraying Simba in this enchanting world. However, Simba's image lingered in my mind, so when I came to Taiwan to open the Bad Mama store, I created a second piece, continuing this unique inspiration.

🌹Hello everyone, I’m Gemma, also known as The Bad Mama (but you can call me 黑媽) 🤭
Today, I’m inviting you into a world that I’ve kept close to my heart for a long time. Throughout the creation of the Bad Mama brand, I’ve painted many "Bad Mama Ladies," each one with her own unique story. These women all have distinct personalities and styles, and their stories are unforgettable to me. Finally, I have the chance to organize these tales and share them with you. I hope you enjoy them and join me in witnessing the creative process behind these Bad Mama ladies.

💄Sariko Story ~

Whenever I open a new Bad Mama location, I create a new representative painting. When I was busy setting up the Surry Hills location in Sydney, Australia, a mysterious image of a Bad Mama lady kept appearing in my mind. She had a touch of melancholy and mystery, inspired by an antique Japanese mask I own called "Ko-Omote." Since this painting was created for the Surry Hills store, I named her "Sariko." In the painting, Sariko sits by a lake, seemingly lost in thought, with a melancholic gaze that hints at an untold story.

Interestingly, a Japanese friend of mine saw the painting and told me that Ko-Omote has a "husband" mask. He showed me a picture, and this husband mask was quite ugly, with a crooked mouth. I was so excited that I asked my friend to buy it for me. Then, I created another painting to explain why my Sariko was so troubled. I also had a Hannya mask representing a Japanese demoness, so I placed this "troublesome couple" together in the painting. And that’s why Sariko is sitting by the lake looking so sad.

💄The Husband and the Hannya Mistress ~

The painting of Sariko is massive, life-sized, in fact! I decided to hang a painting of the mistress and her husband directly opposite Sariko. The scene I imagined was quite fiery—the two of them passionately caught up in the moment. But then I remembered that we had a Ji Gong statue, a revered Chinese deity, brought all the way from Keelung to our store in Australia, sitting right next to them! Out of respect for the deity, I toned down the intensity and painted a more suggestive, flirtatious scene, without letting them go too wild. But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of sneaky tension and sparks flying in that painting!

I hope you can feel my love and imagination for these Bad Mama ladies through these paintings, and look forward to more stories about these characters as they unfold. Sorry, folks—Bad Mama's art tends to be a little dark and mischievous. The charm of these Bad Mama Ladies lies in their unique and playful personalities!💋
