Especially in wintertime with all these colds and flu around we need some medicine once in a while. And what’s better than the “Ginger Fritz” , sweet spicy gingery deliciousness
Belgian Trappist Ale, also known as “The Dark Monk”. Fruity, peppery with a creamy aftertaste, or like Asterix used to say: “Sie spinnen die Belgier”
But in the end nothing beats the rich and dark bitter sweet creaminess of our Extra Stout
And if you like it a bit darker, our Dark Ale hits the spot
Our version of the Coopers Original Pale Ale. Very enjoyable drinking on a Friday Arvo
Our version of the Coopers Extra Stout. It’s dry, dark and delicious
Cali Coast IPA
It tastes as good as it looks and in a few weeks it will be even better
Which glass will we use today?
“Lost City Brown Ale”
Dark Crystal Malt and El Dorado Hops
Only two weeks old. Great head retention and body, aroma of toffee and fruity bitterness. Now I just need the patience to let it mature more
Sometimes these are testing times.
Checking the gravity on the latest brews
18 months in the bottle. What a delicious drop. Roasted Barley Dark Ale. ABV 8.7%
We might have to brew it again
Busy week at the Brauhaus. First brew since October. Norse Ale, a Pale Ale fermented at high temperature with Norwegian Kweik yeast and hopped with Galaxy, Mosaik and Riwaka. It smelled amazing of passionfruit, mango and citrus. Now waiting two weeks for the first taste.
How did I miss my fence posts (and homebrew). Old Conckerwood Black Ale, 8 month in the bottle. Third and not last time I brewed this one. Delicious, especially from the glass from my new mate Robson from Mandi Brew Shop in Mogi Guaçu, São Paulo, Brasil
Here in The Brauhaus we are not only making beer, but Cider as well. Having one now after work. Blueberry Cider, nearly 4 weeks in the bottle. Yum, it is really nice, not a strong blueberry flavor, but still nice and fruity, nicely carbonated and with 6.5 % packing quiet a 🥊
Brauhaus Fritz
That’s where the magic happens!
It was a busy weekend in the Brauhaus. Soaking bottles and fermenting vessels yesterday and bottling 40 pint bottles of hopefully delicious NOG Ale (third batch) today in the morning, we brewed two batches of beer, one Old Smugglers Ale and a Coopers Vintage Ale 2022 and a Blueberry Cider in the afternoon.
This is our second try of our second batch of the
“Admiral’s Reserve Ale”, 5.3% of English Ale goodness.
And after 10 weeks in the bottle the goodness turned into deliciousness.
After recently receiving a delicious Birthday present I dived a little bit more into the Craft Beer Universe to see what's out there. And mostly I wasn't disappointed at all🍻
And the next batch is nearly ready.
“Admiral’s Reserve Ale”
5.3% of English Ale goodness.
After 3 1/2 weeks of bottle priming it is pretty good. Give it one more week or two and it will be simply marvelicious.
Raspberry and Beer? oh yeah....Nothing like a "Blushing Blond"
ABV 5% Flavor 100%
Only here in The Brauhaus
COOPERS REGENCY PARK RED ALE
ABV 5.3%
Coopers Regency Park Red Ale has been released to celebrate
160 years of Australia’s oldest, family-owned brewery.
Featuring Aussie hops, Eclipse & Melba to deliver a spicy bitterness and aromatic notes of stonefruit, grapefruit and zesty orange peel.
This is our try on this celebratory Ale. Only 12 days priming in the bottle but I had to try it. Not a bad drop at all. Let’s see how it will be in a few more days, and I might have to buy some to see how our version holds up to the original....
Here at the Brauhaus we are not only brewing beer, but once in a while also some Mead with our guest brewer Tai, or some marvelicious Ciders like this appely fruity Apple Cider.
Please don’t give it to your children as with an ABV of 7.5% it’s more potent than most of our beers
Partners in crime.
Lemon Myrtle Weizen. ABV 4.8%.
It’s the Coopers “Lemon Zest Weizen” recipe with leaves from my plant.
One of the most refreshing beers I had so far. The subtle lemoniness of the Lemon Myrtle is so good. What an amazing plant.
Will I brew it again?
Absolutely,
I have an endless supply of Lemon Myrtle leaves.
Another success in the Brauhaus Fritz
Midas Touch Golden Ale, bit darker than golden but an enjoyable drop nevertheless. ABV 5.3 %. I am not a big fan of overly hoppy bitter brews, but this one has a pleasant bitterness. It’s being described as a Summer Ale, maybe in England, where Muntons is based. If I would have a pint here in Maroubra in summer on the beach it would knock my socks if and I would pass out. On a fresh April evening it’s a perfect pre dinner drink.
The Kohatu Blonde I just had was so easy to drink, that I opened a long neck of a Smoty Ale. It’s soo good.
And with or without flash it’s so dark and creamy, slightly bitter and with 5.1% I better start cooking my dinner.
Coco Hefe
Coconutty sweet and tangy bitterness with a 5.6% punch. Yummy
Another successful brew in the Brauhaus
After organising my Beer dungeon I found two more bottles of this quiet pleasant brew.
“Woodforde’s Tinsel Toe Roasted Malt Fusion”
A Ruby Ale with an ABV 4.5% and after 6.5 month in the bottle it’s still going down nicely.
“Passion Peach Pale Ale”
The latest successful brew in
The Brauhaus.
ABV 5.1%
Australian Pale Ale with German Callista hops, you can’t go wrong.
Just don’t have too many……
"Smoty Ale"
ABV 5.1%
It is so dark. Tried to take a shot to show a bit more clarity and transparency, but even holding the glass against the light it is really this deep dark. Nice and bitter, not too flowery and sweet. Great head. I am happy with it.
