Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns. But your heavenly Father feeds the birds. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds. You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. “And why do you worry about clothes? Look at the flowers in the field. See how they grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers. God clothes the grass in the field like that. The grass is living today, but tomorrow it is thrown into the fire to be burned. So you can be even more sure that God will clothe you. Don’t have so little faith! Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ All the people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things. And your Father in heaven knows that you need them. The thing you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all these other things you need will be given to you. So don’t worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Tomorrow will have its own worries.

Matthew 6:26-34

Plant ID: The Peacock plant, also known as Calathea makoyana Prayer Plant or Cathedral window

This indoor house plant originated in brasil. It is known to grow up to 2ft in height when cared for correctly. calathea plant is a great indoor plant as it helps in purifying the air and provides fresh oxygen. It promotes a healthier environment by taking carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen for humans.

Calathea prefer soil that is consistently evenly moist at all times but not soggy. If the top 2” of the soil become dry then your plant is ready to be watered. If you let the soil dry out too much, you may see browning, yellowing, or curling leaves.

Should I cut yellow leaves off Calathea?

Don't trim away more than ⅓ of the living foliage in one sitting, or your Calathea may find it hard to recover. It's natural for Calathea leaves to wither and die as they age, though you can still remove them to promote new growth

-Why does calathea called prayer plant?

It gets its common name from the fact that its leaves stay flat during the day and then fold up like praying hands at night.

-Why does calathea leaves close at night?

All Calatheas can close their leaves at night, no matter the species. It's an innate response that has evolved to help plants conserve energy during periods when they're less active and exposed to lower light levels like those found in the evening or on cloudy days.

-Can i mist my calathea?

So plan on misting your Calathea regularly (once a week is ideal) to ensure it receives the moisture it craves. Misting is also a great way of interacting with your Calathea and keeping yourself busy without overwatering it, a common mistake that can cause damage that is difficult to undo.

-How do I know if my Calathea is happy?

When Calathea do need a drink, there are a few early signs (aside from the soil being dry) to look for. Leaves that remain closed throughout the day, dry leaves and roots sticking out of the bottom of the pot are all bad signs. They're not happy this way and go downhill fast.

Why Plants?

Plants produces good oxygen through photosynthesis, plants take carbon dioxide and create the air we breathe. Oxygen also plays an important role in keeping our immune systems strong. Without the oxygen plants produce, we would die.

Plants Clean the air.

NASA found that everyday houseplants can absorb toxins from the air, especially in small spaces with limited airflow. This kicked off a long series of studies that show certain plants are better at others at cleaning the air. Peace lilies, bamboo palm, and Chinese evergreen are filtering powerhouses. For people living in urban environments or other places with pollution, houseplants can keep the air cleaner and healthier.

Plants improve mental health.

Studies show that plant life has a positive impact on the human mind. This is especially true in urban environments where people feel disconnected from nature. houseplants is shown to improve people’s well-being by reducing stress and anxiety, improving your mood, reducing fatigue, improving office performance and focus, boosting healing and pain tolerance, minimizing the occurrence of headaches by improving air quality.
