We’re inspired by the collective movement toward less plastic waste and thank you for supporting us in moving toward a single use plastic free future. Unfortunately the organic industry hasn’t found a solution for strawberries and blueberries yet, hopefully demand drives change.

Wellbeing is a holistic journey, when we nourish our bodies we are feeding our souls.
Did yesterday’s spring like weather give you a heightened sense of positivity, a lifting of the veil so to speak? It definitely did for me after a challenging winter. Covid struck me down mid winter as it more than likely already has for you. My immune system was compromised and I was knocked around for months with a follow up flu and general poor health, call it long Covid if you like or just the realisation that it takes time to get back to full vitality after a virus.

Along the way healthy nutrition and slowly getting back into nature based exercise has been my road back to full health. What I found most interesting about Covid was the brain game it played on me. Brain fog and undermining my mental resilience were the most challenging longer term symptoms of the virus. I’ve had to really go back to basics to regain my health and total wellbeing in all areas: physical, emotional and spiritual. The key lies in an holistic approach to health, all parts of wellbeing are inextricably connected.

When I open “My Organic Box” today I see toxin free, fresh, lovingly grown and curated ingredients that nourish both my body, mind and spirit. Being sick for a couple of months was actually a blessing in that it confirmed that this body of ours has been gifted as a vessel to house our spirit in this life time and it is our duty to maintain it as best we can and in turn our bodies will nurture our spirits.

You’ll find a few tuber of turmeric in the box which were grown and harvested on our “My Organic Box” farm on the Mid North Coast. I’ve found turmeric, and it’s active ingredient curcumin, to be an anti-inflammatory super food for me over the last 10 years and especially this winter. Try macerating today’s turmeric with ginger and boiling with lemon, orange and honey with a teaspoon of pepper to make Jamu Jamu.

Covid has gifted me a deeper commitment to maintaining my holistic wellbeing and a renewed passion to support our ‘little real food’ community on all of our wellbeing journeys. #

In the cooler months I’ve taken to ripening my produce by placing it on the kitchen window sill. Such a sweet and simple pleasure received from watching a tomato ripen over a few days.
