So I’ve been recommending hyperbaric therapy treatments to some of my patients to help with post op wound healing issues, this time I decided to try it myself for my recent knee ligament injury. Thanks to our friends I felt well taken care of. I’m very lucky to have access to this, as it’s not something you can find just anywhere. Hopefully this will be a good adjunct treatment to my patients that need it.

I’m always so pleased to see the care of my patients through to the end and wish them well on their way safe and sound. It’s a wonderful day when a cancer patient and I say goodbye. It means they get an all clear from me and can move on with their life and hopefully it’s a job well done for me too. Rewarding for all of us!!!

Breakfast of champions or how to stay in shape on holidays…… am I playing a losing game?😂😂😂

Enjoying some R&R this week over school holidays and taking the opportunity to soak up some unique experiences, like fishing with some local fisherwomen. They taught me a thing or two that’s for sure.

Fat Grafting, did I mention that I love it. This is a technique that I try to use at every possible opportunity. It allows you to utilise your own tissue to achieve an improvement in shape, volume, defect correction and and enhancement of other procedures such as implants and lift/reduction surgery and of course it has a huge role in breast reconstruction. Like every other tool that we use it does have some limitations, but when used appropriately and with good skill, it’s a very useful addition for both patients and surgeons alike.

You are never too old for a breast reduction and lift. This 62 yo lady struggled with size H breasts for a very long time. She eventually decided to opt for breast reduction. She did tell me I wish I did this earlier, but nevertheless it was still an immense weight off her shoulders, literally, giving her a completely new quality of life. Also note the mole on her left breast and compare the before and after to get an idea of a huge lift/reduction she has had to give her that new lovely shape and more importantly improved function and quality of life. Breast reduction is really one of the best operations we can offer our patients in terms of satisfaction afterwards.

This young woman in her late 20s had pendulous breasts, large stretched ar**las and a breast shape she wasn’t happy with. Unusually warm on this late April day today! Happy Anzac Day everybody… lest we forget!

Here I want to showcase the power of fat grafting. This 42 yo woman was born with a severe pectus excavatum deformity in her sternal bone. She had multiple Cardiothoracic procedures to try to correct it, but without success. She wanted to explore options of implants to hide the defect. I suggested that implants would only be partially successful and that fat grafting with implants would be better option. So we did indeed use implants 330cc mentor anatomics cpg 322 and fat grafted to the sternum and cleavage to camouflage the defect. Despite putting on significant amount of weight post operatively, she ended up with a good outcome particularly from what she was trying to improve upon. Once she loses weight again, I would expect breast augmentation to look even better as well.

Massive Breast Reduction and Lift. This is an early 7 weeks post op result. The breasts are still settling in, but you can already see the amazing change she has gone through. This young lady around 18 years old, started with a 16G size breasts. It’s good to be back operating, doing what I love. The holidays are great, but I know where I belong….

It was great to see Ivy for our last catch up after 5 years of breast cancer treatment. Still here, well and full of life! Can’t get much better than that in my line of work. I wish Ivy many many years of health and joy with her family and friends.

It’s a recharge time of the year, whilst the hospitals are closed, before the long days of daily activities and responsibilities return, enjoying this paradise … enough said…

This 53yo lady had a severe abdominal muscles separation following childbirth in the past making her look like she was still pregnant constantly. She also had an umbilical hernia develop. No amount of exercise or weight loss could ever fix this structure problem unfortunately. I corrected both of these problems using an Extended LipoAbdominoplasty approach with hernia repair at same time. The improvement is obvious and immediate post operatively, which makes for one happy patient, and that is what I care about!!!
