Ch Ch Changes!!!
I guess we are going to be a pink brush :) so far, I am LOVING it. Thinking about breaking up that creamy background..... or removing a bit of the top layer so it is less solid, but I can't make up my mind yet so I will wait and see. Progress is just so fun to see!
Layers, layers, layers!
School holidays is almost over, but at least I finally got to start a new piece. I started without a plan, so I am as surprised by what direction it may take as everyone else.
Very usually for me. I always see the final image in my head before I start and always sketch ideas out first.
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
All done and dusted. Just in time to return to work.

Working on the second prepped canvas. Pretty Proteas in progress :) enjoying this.
My dream would be a full-time artist and running my own art classes from my own studio....... One can always dream. In the meantime, just enjoy the creation process when I can.
After a holiday break I returned home to realise that this artwork is complete.

Now onto the next trial :)
Progress being made. Started with the teal background and just didn't feel right..... too solid.
I wanted something a bit rough, rustic, not so dark.
Something that makes the flowers pop off the page so now I am trying an off, creamy white.
Still more details to happen but the process is so satisfying π
There are three things that really give me peace. Simple times with my kids enjoying the simple things, walking on the beach listening to the waves and CREATING ANYTHING!
This week I will get to do all three things and never have I needed a reset more after a school term. So trying a new approach. Layer 1 colour applied, layer 2 texture and pattern in progress......... wait for layer 3 π
Both my boys are taking part in the school colour run this year. If you are able to please don't and help raise funds for their school. Every little bit can help :)

Inspired by the amazing creativity of my Mum and her textile group's fantastic exhibition that I went to yesterday at Campbelltown Art Centre, I powered through to finish off the wall hanging I started.
Not even remotely at their amazing level and it's not my strength but it was a nice detour in mediums. All finished......... now to decide where to hang it :)
Helping my brain shut down from schoolwork for a while over the holidays by making a wall hanging. Bit of fun where I have to force my mind to slow down a little and hopefully reset ....... so far, it's working well :)
Inspired by looking at the macro details of intricate lace doilies my Nanna Stimson left me. A little abstract but totally enjoyable to create.
'Ribbon and Lace'
Acrylic and Ink
50cm round wooden canvas.
$390.00
I think this one will create a nice pattern for some products as well.
Using up a little of my t-shirt yarn in order to get my brain into a little reset mode so it can focus on designing finishing touches on a painting and planning my next creative adventure.
It's been a difficult time where I have been getting a little bored with my current style and trying to find the right 'fit' that will evolve with my creativity. I think I may have at least solved one of those creative blocks........... watch this space.
SOLD! Limited edition 'Banksia Boy' print is off to a new home!
Getting my creative self working again after a long break always requires me to try something a bit different to my style ........ After laying the colour down it was not what I was trying to do. The wisdom of my oldest boy sent me off in an unplanned direction and I am liking where it is heading 'You could always make it abstract mum' ........ and so, I will xoxo
First day of school holidays has seen me finally finish off something for my own home.
'The Three Sisters' is a lovely reminder of a family day to the Blue Mountains last holidays. Bit of a different approach but telling a story about our adventure.
Can wait to hang this on our own wall for a change :)
βPersistenceβ is off on a new adventure to a lovely home in WA! Just as I was about to put this on my wall for a little while β€οΈ
Oh well, will need to paint a new one to suit our home now instead π€©
The Three Sisters work is coming along nicely. Not convinced that I am going to put this one up for sale when I am done of if it will take pride of place at home....... guess we will just wait and see. β€β€β€
After a family day trip to The Blue Mountains I have started a controlled abstract artwork that is very dear to my heart.
It will be full of simplified, symbol representations of what we saw and experienced. In a way, the imagery breaks down all the little elements of memories in the way that it organises itself in my head.
Already LOVING the colours β€
All ready for the big wide world!

Peaches and Cream Grevillea - An Australian native flower that is made up of such interesting shapes and patterns. The soft colour of the peach against the silvery green leaf is a beauty to behold.
Keep your eyes peeled for products soon!
SUPER EXCITED about starting this new painting. I don't think I am going to be able to let this one go when its completed, I am in love already and its just the initial sketch :)
Oh Black Cockatoo's....... I can hear the beautiful call as they fly over head now β€
Starting off a new sketch today.
My ALL TIME FAVOURITE ANIMAL.........The Black Cockatoo.
There is at least 2 or 3 designs flowing around in my head for these beauties. I am excited to see where this one goes :)
FRUSTRATED TO THE MAX!!!
I am struggling with this one. The colours are just not right. I make a change and I love it. No more than 5 minutes later I will hate it again.
Artist block is in full swing at the moment......... hopefully soon there will be a break through.
Weekend progress :)
Trying something a little different, smaller work and using canvas! different texture but so far I am loving the look.
Just like that 'Audacious' is going to a lovely new home!
Looks like its time to paint a few new birds π₯°........ Perhaps a Black Cockatoo or 2 (my absolute favourite) or even a kookaburra that I have been wanting to do for a while.
Oh if only there was more free time for these things.
Not long left...... head on down and see my works and many other talented local artists at the Camden Art Sale.
Some lovely long weekend painting is just what the mind needed....... my two biggest fans even got in on the action creating their own master pieces too.
A nice Peaches and Cream Grevillia is now in the making π₯°
Guess who will have 3 works at the Camden Art Show!!!
Come along and see 'Audatious, Exhale and Vibrance' in person. Online does not do them justice.
