Guess who popped into today? That’s right: Sherwood popped in. Anyone who knows Sydney in the early 90s would have met Sherwood. He started the Kutani Club on Oxford st in the basement of the exchange hotel. Our regular haunt every Friday night. Where we would meet for drinks, see the shows and dance the night away and then stumble home at 2:30am. Sherwood is about to open another night club out west.

This is what happened to my business at 7pm Sydney time while I was waiting to board a plane at Puerto Princesa airport. A random man performed a random act of violence with a hammer and smashed the glass door to my shop. He was witnessed by a family with young children who heard a loud crashing noise and shattered glass rained all over the footpath of king street Newtown. The mum rang me. Thank goodness my flight got delayed by an hour so I was able to ring my insurance, my friend Tas and my Neighbor Chris and his friend Adam. Who descended at the shop immediately to board up the hole with cardboard and tin. At 9pm, a GiO insurance assessor / glazier arrived to make the door more secure with solid wood paneling. Tas was so good to stay behind on this cold raining night to grant access and didn’t leave until after the job was completed just after 10:30pm Sydney time. I was just telling my nephew, Jeremy’s this morning how grateful and proud I am to create a safe space around my business and incidentally a community of business owner, customers and local pedestrian has also come together to ensure that we thrive together. It’s a great feeing to know that this community will get behind each other under any circumstances. We are stronger that way. ❤️Fancy discovering peace of mind when you least expected it ………….……………. This is nothing short of a miracle. Sometimes, I wonder how I would have ever get through life with out the distinctions gained from my personal development journey and all the fantastic people I continue to connect with along the way? Sleep well all my friends.
