We are such powerful beings and sometimes we forget... I definitely do.
However, as soon as I say this affirmation to myself, I remember that I create my reality through my perception, beliefs, values and actions.
Our power is within our choice on how to percieve life.... is it happening to us or is it happening for us?
If we believe life is happening to us, we may feel powerless to the outside circumstances.
If we were to believe life is happening for us, we become neutral to outside circumstances and therefore feel more empowered.
I remember waiting in line on this day, to bungy jump from the Kawarau River Bridge in New Zealand.
It could have been a bit of a mix of adrenaline and shock that I was actually going to do this, but strangely enough I felt quite calm.
As I stood in line, my Dad took one last photo of me before walking away to watch from the other side.
There was no one around, expect the person jumping before me and the instructor…
So decided to close my eyes and do a really quick Breathwork exercise with a meditation, where I visualised myself completing the jump.
I did not visualise me doing the jump…
Instead I visualised what it would be like to complete it and how great it would feel.
This along with the short breathwork exercise helped me feel more calm and stable in that moment.
The instructor even commented on how calm I was being.
I’m not going to lie, when my toes went over the edge the fear did start to creep in, but I just took some extra deep breaths and jumped!
I have used this short exercise whenever I have felt anxiety or fear about what could happen in the future and it works every time and without fail!

When we experience trauma whether it’s firsthand or through witnessing a traumatic event, it overwhelms our coping skills and influences our Nervous System and behaviours moving forward.
We may decide in that moment that it is unsafe to get our needs met, therefore we resort to the survival responses such as Fight, Flight, Freeze and Fawn.
Even though the highest purpose of these coping behaviours is to keep us safe, if we are predominantly in survival mode (especially when there’s no threat), we become disconnected from our bodies therefore our intuition.
This could leave us feeling exhausted, drained, and stressed.
Because we are reacting from a place of fear, it limits our thought process and cuts us off from our creative essence.
When we feel safe in the moment we think more clearly, make better decisions, have increased energy, and feel more connected to ourselves and others.
This is why I am so passionate about what I do, whether it’s hypnotherapy, coaching or breathwork. These types of therapies are so powerful because they access the subconscious where all the trauma imprints and coping strategies are stored.
My intention is to create safe space for my clients to bring their trauma to the surface so we can process it and let it go.
From here we can find ways to get our needs met in a more safe and direct way, creating more space and energy to flow.
We deserve to feel inner bliss and love for life, not just to live each day to survive.

Ironically our soul is already whole…
However, when we experience trauma or intense situations and emotions, our soul/conscious spits into parts as a coping mechanism.
Maybe at school you were disciplined and humiliated for being loud, so in that moment you decided to supress and shame the part of you that wants to speak up and express themself loudly and openly.
To avoid experiencing this type of situation again you become quiet and accommodating by over listening to others and avoid speaking up.
From here you may find that you become a magnet and triggered by people who speak over you loudly and shut you down when it’s your turn to talk.
This is because people and relationships are a mirror to our unconscious mind. They help us become aware of the parts of us we supress, reject, shame, and deny.
In this scenario the soul craves to be whole, by bringing your awareness to the part of you that wants to speak up and be heard and seen and the number one way to grab your attention is to trigger you.
The goal here is to integrate both the loud and the quiet parts of you because all parts of you are lovable.
When we integrate these two parts, we find freedom and peace to be our authentic self, whether we want to speak up in the moment or sit back and listen.
Instead of our motives coming from a wound, they come from our freedom choice in the present moment.

Even though it's lovely and beneficial to have a self-care day that involves bubble baths, relaxing and eating chocolate...
I find that real self-care comes down to having the patience and the courage to hold space for yourself, while processing uncomfortable emotions.
I would notice a pattern where clients of mine would gaslight themselves, by saying things such as "I'm being too sensitive..." or "I shouldn't feel sad or angry, I should just get over it...".
When we push down, deny, or shame our emotions, we are rejecting parts of ourselves that want to be seen, heard, and understood.
Imagine if a little child came running up to you very upset and crying, would you ignore them or tell them they're being too sensitive...
Or would you listen to them, hold space, and try to understand why they are so upset...
Most of the time we forget ourselves that we have an inner child, waiting to be seen, heard, and loved.
However, every time we hold back tears, push down our anger and distract ourselves from our emotions, we are ignoring and neglecting that part of us that represents our inner child.
Crying is an act of self-love because it's a valid emotional and authentic expression. (Also, it feels amazing after having a big cry).
Every time we hold back in acknowledging or expressing our emotions, we store them as negative energy in our body, and they continue to influence us even outside of our awareness.
During Transformational Breathwork sessions, my goal is to create a safe container for my clients so they can bring these uncomfortable emotions to the surface, to be processed and expressed in a healthy way.
After this intentional release of old stored emotions, many of my clients have commented on the inner bliss and self-love they feel after our session.
Therefore, I truly believe Transformational Breathwork sessions are the ultimate act of self-care.

Our bodies are amazing systems...
They help us to navigate between pleasure and pain.
When we encounter an emotional trigger, the body is sending off an alarm system to either keep us safe so we can survive, or invite more experiences in our life that make us feel good.
For this navigation system to work, our body and subconscious mind stores information from past events, whether it was traumatic or pleasurable.
This information turns into alarm bells which are also known as triggers.
Have you ever found yourself smelling a certain fragrance, or listening to a specific song and flashing back to a past event... and almost reliving it in your mind?
Through this trigger the mind and body are sending you a signal saying that right now in the present moment, there may be potential threat or potential pleasure.
When we are able to recall the specific event linked to a trigger, we have more opportunity to rationalise if we are safe in the present moment or not.
However, during an Emotional Recall we may feel unsafe and confused...
When we go into an Emotional Recall, our body may set off alarm bells with feelings of anxiety, anger or shame. These internal triggers could have been set off by something as simple as a certain tone of voice, facial expression, confronting someone, slamming doors etc
Even though this may have kept us safe in the past, it may be keeping us stuck in the present moment.
Breathwork is the healing process of bringing up all these Emotional Recalls to the surface in a safe space, so we can rewire our system to feel safe in the present moment.
When we go deep into a Breathwork Journey, we are able to gain access to the information in our body and rationalise if this information is outdated and no longer serves us.
From here we can release this suppressed energy and return back feeling safe, refreshed and alive!
Our internal system might be outdated but it's not broken.
We will always have the power to rewire our mind, body and nervous system in the way that serves us.

Stress is created by the thoughts of something bad or worse that is going to happen in the future and it feels like we have little to no control over it.
When we feel stressed we activate the sympathetic nervous system which controls the fight & flight response in our body.
In this state our brain and nervous system sets off an alarm in our body to warn us of an outside treat, even though the trigger could be something minor such as traffic, work deadlines or making a mistake.
When we are in the stress response we tend to have tunnel vision on the problem at hand, making it very difficult for us to have flexibility in our behaviour and choices.
I believe Breathwork is the best medicine for stress.
Since practicing Breathwork on a daily basis whether it's a short breathing exercise or a full hour Transformational Breathwork Journey, I have been able to rewire my baseline from stressed to a state of peace and neutrality.
Almost like a steady boat surrounded by a crazy sea storm.
Even by doing a simple breathing exercise such as 4 rounds of the 7,4,8 (inhaling for 7 counts, holding for 4 counts & exhaling for 8 counts). You can activate the parasympathetic nervous system which controls the rest and digest response, in just minutes!
This means you can manipulate your state even in a stressful situation, which helps with problem solving, thinking clearly, making decisions and practicing gratitude.
It can be difficult to avoid stress in our daily life all together. However, it's very handy to have a powerful tool in your pocket whenever you need to reset your nervous system back to a neutral, positive state.

What if healing wasn't about fixing anything..
What if healing was the process of releasing what no longer serves us from the past, such as unexpressed emotions, limiting beliefs and negative narratives.
What if the purpose of healing is for us to evolve and expand by shifting our perspective on past negative events. So we can return back to the present moment empowered and grateful.
I remember when I did my first Breathwork Journey, and I had a flash back to a negative event where I felt hurt, guilt and shame.
I was carrying this event around in my body in the present moment, subconsciously wanting to go back to change and fix everything that happened.
However, when I went into the Breathwork Journey, I released all the negative emotions attached to that event and I saw it in a completely different filter...
Instead I felt acceptance, peace and gratitude towards myself and what happened.
There was no fixing involved.
After the session I felt relieved, as if a ton of weight was lifted off my shoulders.
I returned back to the present moment with inner bliss.
When we get into a "healing" cycle of fixing, we can get stuck on an endless loop trying to fix something that's not broken.
When we enter healing with the intention to release and shift our perspective, we can then complete the energetic loop and let go of the past.
By just doing one hour of Breathwork, you can release years of trauma stuck in your body and most importantly return back to the present moment refreshed and ready to start a new chapter of life.
