Established since 1986 a proud local family run Jewellery store seeks a new team member for their busy store. We specialise in antique & vintage jewellery with new jewellery & design an integral part of our business also. Chiltons also carries out jewellery repairs & valuations.
We are gemologist so good sound knowledge of jewellery & gemstones is a bonus & point of sale systems.

About the opportunity
We are after someone with jewellery or retail experience 3-5 days a week to work front of house in the store from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Coordinate customers’ orders from website
Serving clients in the shop
General house keeping
Answering calls & enquires
Processing orders
Unpacking of stock & data entry
We are seeking someone with:
Proactive & positive attitude
Ability to see the bigger picture & think outside the box
Has driver’s license as some out of shop work can be required
Experience opening & closing secure premises & safe handling of stock
A professional & mature approach
Computer skills including retail manager – TOWER & social media
Sale & buying
The ideal candidate will bring expert knowledge of jewellery or history or willingness to learn
Friendly cheerful & who is a team player. Working days will include a Saturday 9-3:30pm

I’m writing this with a heavy heart to ask people to think before they part with there hard earned money
The amount of people we have coming into our shop seeking advice & help is currently astronomical. They have bought at auction with ridiculous over the top valuations that are ridiculously over inflated from gumtree or Facebook marketplace
All of these type of transactions come with a risk attached, it’s buyer beware!! No recourse if something isn’t right or it’s not as it appeared to be.
Please think before buying as there are so many scams happening at the moment

As the rise of social media there are a lot of people that aren’t really qualified that are setting themselves up as so called professional traders but are more casual dealers or here today gone tomorrow. So think if you want to buy something nothing beats a bricks & mortar shop that’s been in business long terms with ties to local community, who are apart of professional organisations such as NCJV & AAADA & who employ people locally. I ask everyone to think before they buy & to do there research on who they are doing business with as hearing these stories constantly for the last few years we have definitely noticed a huge increase lately. We have weekly someone coming in with a tale of something not being right & it’s heart breaking for us to tell them what they are have realised in reality which is why they came in after the fact to ask more questions but usually by then it’s too late. If a deal seems too good to be true please ask yourself the question, why!!
