This photo is from way back when my sons were little. I'd often hike the Americas Bay Trail in the Ku-ring-gai. It is one of my most favourite views of Pittwater. I loved the richness of the umber against the pale blue water, and how the water meets the trees, which is what I chose to capture in the painting.

How amazing is mixing paint!? Look at these colours!
I am missing g my paints these days. Everything is packed up and ready for the move on Saturday. It makes me sad to think I won't be able to paint for weeks! Not even swatches. But eventually, I will be on the canvases, and the work will flow. I am super excited for the next chapter. Bug chances
Raise your hand if you struggle with colour!
I do. And I have to say, swatches has helped me on multiple levels with my art. It is cornerstone to my art practice now. I struggle with colour and the depth in which some artist can take a take colour theory. I must have completely checked out in my colour theory classes with Ms. Cameron. She was so strict about the lines of the boxes it made me cringe at the mention of swatches.
It wasn't until a few years back when I realised I had missed a major portion of my art practice and I was hurting for it. I find swatching is the best way to Lear how a colour works. I keep my sheets in a spiral and often reference back to them. I look through these notebooks when I want to choose a palette for a painting.
I always leave a few sheets behind the pure tube colour to explore how it interacts with earth tones and different blacks.
I no longer care if it's messy as long as he information is pure. If you aren't doing swatches yet. Give it a go! It is wonderful.

Sitting on the train, listening to young girls talk about their outfits and their hair for the weekend... it reminds me so much of my sister it hurts. Just a few more months before I am home and being silly with them. I can't wait.

This painting is currently hanging in my office. You an see it behind me in many of my journal reels where I speak about my individual pieces.
Not planned to go to the gallery for a few more months.
Does anyone want to buy me art supplies? 😆 I can't afford to purchase larger canvases, so little ones will have to do. Because I gotta paint. It is an urge, like an addiction. I can't not paint. So I find anything I can get my hands on,and that is my canvas.
But one has to dream... I dream of large canvases, so I can really play.

Reflecting on my journey to Mount Kosciuszko. I am inspired by the stunning contrast between the distant blue mountains and the pale yellow rolling hills.
In a recent art journal post, I explored the unique differences between the landscapes of Australia and California. It is these differences of Majestic, purple mountains vs. The Australian shade upon shade of blue, weathered down by time mountain tops, that I found truly amazing to behold. Atthe sumit it was rolling layers of blue.
The breath-taking blue mountains of Australia are truly a marvel to the behold in person. However, the Berry Way drive into South Australia, tested my nerves with its steep drops.
Despite the challenges of the descent, the journey was worth incredible.

Good morning and good evening
Here's a little Woodland painting that is inspired by Australia and all the wonderful things that make Australia beautiful.
This painting has a lot of colour a lot of layers. It would look appropriate in any small corner, on a bookshel, stylized on a consul table or hanging on a narrow wall in a kitchen.
It is a great way to add a bit of art to your home style.
The Pacific Ocean holds a special place in my heart.
When I first moved to Sydney, I would sit on this very beach and send my heart across the sea to my family. I missed them so much. Sometimes, the salt water mixed with my tears of sadness. But as time passed the sea took my joy and laughterI laughed and cradeled me and my two young boys. I was lucky to get to the beach every day. And each day I sent my love to san Francisccan shores with the assurance it would carry me to my family.
It didn't take long for my mother and I to start signing off our emails "a kiss on every wave". This painting is currently hanging at her home. And I still send my love through the Pacific. It is my soul and my heart and I am happiest in its arms surrounded by all the love in the world.
How to make a statement on a budget and not sacrafice on authentic art?
Think quality over size.
Using a variety of artwork sizes will add depth and visual interest to any wall display.
Mixing small, medium, and large pieces creates dynamic compositions that capture attention and spark conversation.
Curate a captivating gallery wall that reflects your unique style and personality.
The key is use colour to keep it unified.
"Are you better yet?"
"Yes. Poochin. I can take you for a walk today. Not a fast walk bit a nice one. And I can get down and play with you today, too!"
Feels good to be able to move again. Not perfect, but I will attempt to take my drus down a notch after my next visit.
This dog is the best! ❤️❤️. He has been so good with me and offered such love. And hopefully, now that my back is on the mend, I can make it up to him!
