It’s the first day of spring here in Australia so I’m sharing one of my favourite summer dresses - the . I’ve got a few iterations of this pattern and this one is made using our Linford Black Washed Linen with a yoke detail in our Border Collection cotton lace. I prefer narrower straps so I finish the armholes with a bias binding. For a how-to tutorial in this method for this particular pattern, visit the blog.

Perfect (also: favourite) holiday wardrobe companions turned out to be our and (by Pattern Fantastique). For the top, I used a cotton embroidered fabric that has been stash-dwelling for years and years. With the yoke and those dramatic puff sleeves, this pattern really loves the impact of a border print design. My shorts are made up in our Antonia lightweight washed organic denim, and they're just getting better and softer with every wash and wear.

“A quick message to say that YET ANOTHER Tessuti pattern is a 10/10 (like every single other pattern I’ve made up). I finally got around to making the Tessuti Robe in your Vista Bloom linen from earlier this year, and cut the bindings in a contrast linen, and I’m so happy with the final result. I lengthened the sleeves by 2”, and then added a channel and some contrast ties so I could have them short and long. Love love love this fabric so much, I bought it in the cotton poplin too ☺️”

Our made by who’s wearing the long version over pants, which also happens to be one of our favourite ways to wear it. But the options don’t stop there. The pattern can be worn as a stylish and sunsmart cover-up or a simple and relaxed tunic in either the long or shorter option.

Here’s Colette showing how just a small piece of a statement print can be used to maximum effect in a pattern like our . Using our ‘Modified Annie Dress Tutorial’ (on the blog) she substituted the pattern’s wide straps for a bias bound edge.

In the planning stages of our recently released pattern, we were hugely drawn to the concept of creating a comfortable set that was perfect for travel, recreation, relaxation and work-from-home. That pairing ultimately ended up being Avoca and the - AKA the . But if you’re looking for another style of pants that will work just as well (and with pockets!), try our . Whilst this pattern was originally intended for woven fabrics only, we found that with a few small modifications it works brilliantly in a French Terry as well. We finished the pocket opening with a folded strip of binding and left the pocket bottom edge raw for a simple rolled up effect. We also recommend sizing down if you’re making a pair of Jensens in this type of knit.

Turn something you like into something you LOVE with our iDye for Natural Fabrics. Using a small amount of iDye Olive, we overdyed our Geo Weave printed linen - see our previous post for the original black & white colourway. Silva used her own pants pattern which she describes as an "exaggerated version of our with side pockets".⁠

TIPS: We dyed the fabric before making up these pants but if you're planning on sewing up your garment before dyeing, be sure to use a cotton (not poly) thread so it takes the dye. ⁠
