Another amazing weekend spent in Melbourne with my beautiful brothers at Hume Islamic Youth Centre (HIYC) and our dear and beloved Sheikh Mohamed Jamal Omran (Abu Ayman) حفظه الله

Was an absolute pleasure catching up with my dear brother & old friend Mohammed Taksim principal of Minaret College..

Always enjoyable meeting old friends and colleagues but more importantly discussing our youth and their future and the Islamic education of our youth.. Really appreciated the experience he shared and advice offered as I embark on this new journey with my up & coming role as Principal at New Madinah College..

Look forward to this next chapter in my life and contributing towards the upbringing of our children and youth..

Muharram 1446: Important Dates.

• Muharram is one of the four sacred months. It is virtuous and recommended to fast during it as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of Allah al-Muharram .” [Sahih Muslim]

• Fasting the day of 'Ashura (10th of Muharram) Exipates Sins: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Fasting the day of ‘Arafah I hope Allah will expiate thereby for the year before it and the year after it, and fasting the day of 'Ashura I hope Allah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it.” [Sahih Muslim]

May Allah guide us to goodness, bless us & protect us.

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
(الحجرات : ١٠)

The believers are but brothers & sisters (in Islam). So make reconciliation between your brothers & sisters, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy.
(Hujuraat : 10)
