Quite possibly the oldest way to produce bread daily. It's amazing that this can produce a unique flavour, crust, and texture that it does. After all, it's just flour and water👌

Would you believe me if I told you that components of this Sourdough were over 23 years old?

Back in the year 2001, a very much younger me wanted to start my own Bakery. I bought a small patisserie in Nth Bondi (some of you might remember) it was not very busy, very small, and had little to no equipment. I remember the guy I bought it off was perplexed that I was going to turn his little boutique patisserie into a bakery.
Flash forward 20+ years I've fed that starter every day since. It's my baby, and I'm very protective of it (I may or may not have let a few people go over the years after they put it at risk)😉

What sets us apart from the rest?

We make ours on site!

that goes for everything we do. If we can't make it, we won't sell it.

We are now back open to the public, while not at full strength we will be soon. So you can now pick up your fresh baked bread.

Clovelly Bakery is changing.
As of the 28th of February, we will no longer be open to the general public. We will be transitioning into a wholesale bakery only. If you're part of our large regular customer base, don't fret... you will still be able to access our range of bread and rolls from our long-time customer in Coogee. As well as a number of cafes and hotels we already supply while you're enjoying breakfast. We will still be taking shop orders to be picked up during a specific time window, details on that will follow. I truly apologise if this inconveniences you.
