The following students completed the Anate Corporate Group Pty Ltd Fundamentals of Personalised Care program. This program provided students with an overview of the principles and processes of individualised support planning and delivery, as well as the legal and ethical requirements, and the roles and responsibilities of different people involved in care and support.
Students were selected on their career interests. After this program, students have a better understanding of the health industry and what pathway they would like to follow.
Please congratulate these students!

Bass Bulls in Peter Mulholland Cup
In Round 1 in the Schoolboy Cup (Peter Mulholland Cup 2024) Bass High played Endeavour Sports High at Points Bet Arena, Cronulla.
Bass High played a strong game from the first whistle. Bass gifted Endeavour two late tries in the first half, and Endeavour went into half time with a lead of 12-6. Bass came out firing in the second half and very quickly took the lead with two dominant tries by Simione Laiafi. Apart from scoring tries, Simi led the way with a powerful performance, inspiring the other forwards to go with him.
The try scorers were Simione Laiafi (2) and Matthew Barakat (1). Matthew Barakat kicked three goals and a penalty goal. Aaron Keppie was impressive in his first performance for Bass High. Ali Karnib, the co-captain, was instrumental in setting up many of the plays and creating scoring opportunities for others.
The final score was 20-14 with Bass High gaining confidence with their win over Endeavour Sports High. This was a massive upset for Endeavour Sports as they are ranked 4th in the competition.
An unexpected highlight for the team was Royce Hunt (Ex Bass High student and current First Grade Rugby League player for the Cronulla Sharks) coming along to watch Bass High playing Endeavour at Cronulla. Royce made the day even more special for the team by doing a jersey presentation to the players along with some encouraging and motivating words before the game.

On the 27th of March, Bass High School celebrated the spirit of unity and community at our school's Iftar dinner hosted at the Himayala Emporium Function Centre at Bankstown. Families gathered under one roof, sharing the joy of breaking fast together during this sacred month of Ramadan. Our School Captain, Nelson Lau, and Vice-Captain, Lojyan Marouf, gracefully led the event, whose welcoming infused the evening with warmth and inclusivity.
Esteemed guests, including Aunty Lyn Martin, our local Aboriginal Elder and the Deputy Mayor of Bankstown Council, alongside the dedicated members of the P&C, enriched the occasion with their presence. Their collective efforts underscored the values of inclusivity and solidarity, making this Iftar an unforgettable experience.
Special thanks to Mamadu Jallah for his soulful performance of the Adhan and Noah El Naboulsi for leading the prayer and adding spiritual depth to the occasion.

Some of our Yr 9 and 10 girls attended the "Girls in Tech" excursion this week at the Commonwealth Bank Head Office. The event educated our students about the wide range of careers available to them in the innovation and technology fields and the skills required for entry. The event also provided hands-on immersive experiences, such as getting to see some robots in action and the power of Artificial Intelligence.
Ms Hamed and Mrs Harris took students from Year 12 English Advanced and Year 11 English Studies classes on an excursion to the State Library of NSW in the CBD on Tuesday 12th March. Students were given an exclusive tour of some of the libraryās facilities open to all residents of NSW. They marvelled at the Harry Potter-esque reading room with books lining all the walls. The group were given insight into the intricacies of the Shakespeare room. A special photography exhibition provided a lot of information as did many secondary source material and artefacts around the regal buildings. The worldās smallest book was held by Bass High students and a special trip down into the echelons of secret underground storage was the highlight.
The excursion was completely funded by the Regional Industry Education Partnership Program which allowed students to consider career pathways involved in libraries. The networking sessions at the library allowed students the opportunity to interview staff in various roles. Joseph Fox in year 11 won a prestigious competition on the day beating students from 4 other schools.
Ms Hamed and Mrs Harris were delighted with studentsā participation, their insightful questioning and information gathering. A highly recommended excursion!
