Big thanks to CGA by NielsenIQ's Scott Elliott and James Phillips for their excellent presentation at the Drinks Association's Network Breakfast last Thursday. Both shared insights and explored how On Premise trends have shifted in Australia since the pandemic and how these trends compare to the global recovery of the channel.

Elliott had just arrived from the UK, coming to Australia especially for the presentation and to launch the new BeverageTrak service to industry.

He said: “The on-premise: it's really the place where we build brands, we build emotional connection to brands and when you look at the experimentation and trial that happens in this channel, there is no other channel like it."

Congratulations to Maybe Sammy which was named the Best Bar in Australasia when The World's 50 Best Bars were announced at a live ceremony in Barcelona early this morning (AEST).

Maybe Sammy came in at 29th position and Cantina OK came in at 41st position They are only Australian bars to feature in the top 50 this year.

RE and Caretaker's Cottage featured in the 51-100 list announced last week.

Global Bartender of the Year and São Paulo was announced as the host city for 2023 for the World Class Cocktail Festival in Sydney on Thursday evening.
