Community Spotlight: Dr Nick Stephenson on radiology in rural Australia
Meet Dr Nick Stephenson, a dedicated radiologist with 28 years of experience serving the Wagga Wagga community. Dr Stephenson has been instrumental in shaping healthcare in the Riverina, from medical specialist recruitment to helping establish the Murray Darling medical schools' network. In this segment, Dr Stephenson sheds light on the critical shortage of radiologists in rural and regional areas, a challenge deeply rooted in the lack of training opportunities outside major cities. He advocates for increased regional training to ensure that communities like Wagga Wagga continue to receive the essential healthcare services they deserve.
