Despite profiting more than $450 million last year, ETEX continues to refuse to reach an agreement with its workers.
CFMEU members have now entered the fifth day of their strike, demonstrating unwavering determination in their fight for fair wages and improved working conditions.
These workers are standing firm against an employer who doesn’t want to give workers their fair share despite their enormous profit margins.
Shameful!
Finally members of the media and others have started to see what is really going on with the Albanese and the Federal Government seeking to rush through legislation
The CFMEU members in New South Wales working at Etex fighting for a better wages deal, send their message of solidarity to their brothers and sisters, CFMEU members in Queensland on the Cross River Rail Project who are also taking action to raise conditions. The CFMEU supports members wherever they are. There is power in the union collective
CFMEU members employed by ETEX in Matraville are on strike to get a better and well deserved deal. They are sticking tight on Day 5. Etex relies on these workers to get its product out and make their profits off the back of their efforts. Our members are not asking for the world they are just asking to keep their families’ head above water. We will stick with our members, we won’t be distracted by the political noise. Together we will win!
On the picket line with CFMEU members locked out by Etex, taking up the fight for better wages and conditions to support their families. Come what may we will stick with them to the end. This is what we do ✊✊✊
Hearing from members and delegates on strike at Etex. The company expects round the clock productivity without having to pay for it. CFMEU members at Etex like many Australians feel the pinch of the high cost of living in Sydney. Etex can well afford what the workers are asking for. They are a long term, loyal and skilled workforce.Etex should show them some respect and pay them their due ✊
ETEX are not so inspiring and they put up a substandard EBA. Workers at the Matraville plant are taking a stand, and fighting for their families. We support them 100% and we will win ✊
Those like the Federal Government and their ACTU mates would be better served supporting and delivering for Workers rather than supporting the worse Union Busting exercise since Patrick’s (and at least then it was fhe Tories and expected). The CFMEU despite the attacks stand with our members and we stand with the employers of Etex, a building supply company that has locked out its workforce rather than provide a dignified wages outcome. We won’t give in ✊
Day 4 at the Etex picket line and not even the rain will dampen their resolve. CFMEU Members standing with their union to achieve decent wages and conditions. If you don’t fight you lose ✊
A new statement from CFMEU National Secretary Zach Smith and MUA National Secretary Paddy Crumlin.
Getting on with the business of fighting for our members CFMEU members at Etex are on day 3 of protected action to secure their enterprise agreement ✊
And well done to the CFMEU members working for Dalma welcoming their improved wages and conditions. We will keep on delivering to members ✊✊
Congratulations to CFMEU members at TCL voting up their new CFMEU EBA ✊

Statement from Assistant Secretary Michael Greenfield to members
In Australia, Labor Is Criminalizing the Construction Union Australian PM Anthony Albanese has declared war on the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union. Labor says it’s about cleaning up the industry — but it’s really about settling factional scores and boosting developers’ profit margins.
🤔ok to trash the CFMEU, it’s officials and members without justification but hey let’s roll out the red carpet to money laundering
NSW may give reprieve to cash in casinos after Star boss plea Changes to state casino law could include pushing back the deadline for mandatory carded play and increasing the cash limit.
The CFMEU works to support its members when they need it most. Its what we do, day in and day out. We will continue to do so.
Congratulations to the CFMEU Members at Traino for locking in their new CFMEU EBA. Whilst Governments fail on providing cost of living relief, the Reserve Bank won’t commit to interest rates cuts, the CFMEU has delivered real dollars to its members. And we will not be distracted from meeting this obligation in furthering the interests of our members. Shock horror a union doing what its members expect ✊
