What a sad post we find ourselves writing. Yesterday we went into to say our goodbye. Not from the wonderful Daphne and Lucy but to the store as we know it. The wonderful Daphne Raiti has run the store with her heart and her soul. I walked into the store to find her and boss lady (absolutely gorgeous woman) in a river of tears. Of course it was only natural that I cried a river along with them. The words said to Daphne were you are an inspiration, amazing, beautiful. Are only to simplistic to describe the evolution that is Daphne. The store is and will always be remembered as the heart and soul of the centre. The smell of the Italian casalinga cooking as you walk passed will be missed along with Enza. The support, faith and trust Daphne had with all of us here at Alpino was elegant and family! The store is a shell but the people were glorious. Through covid Daphne kept it going. It gave hope and normality. You are a queen dear Daphne. As I said to you today, start your new chapter and enjoy! Thank you for the service your have provided my community and my home! The kids will miss you and all your staff! Addio per adesso solo! this is a huge loss! 😢
