Ok so this is a bit special. I bought this map along with a bunch of other Canberra related goodies. It is titled “Canberra Design by Walter Burley Griffin” but undated. Do I did a trove (National Library of Australia) search for it and turns out it is from between 1916 and 1925! It’s original and presented in archival-quality mounting and backing. Come take a peak and maybe snap up something truly interesting this weekend.

I’ve found some fascinating vintage real estate posters from 1954. These advertisements are for land release in Canberra. One-of-a-kind, these are lovely historical objects. Come see the collection at this weekend. I’m bringing history to your walls!

Original 1972 London Underground map. Immaculate condition. #1972

Oh this one is hard to part with. An original Guinness advertisement from 1944. Rare and collectible, this ad originally appeared in the Illustrated London News. Featuring the whimsical and delightful work of John Gilroy, this is part of the Zoo series of Guinness ads. Mounted with an archival-quality mount and backing.
It will be coming to Handmade Canberra next weekend unless it is sold earlier. $275 including postage within Australia.

Mid-century French advertising.

Last market a couple of customers asked about vintage railway maps. This beauty is an original 1921 Map of Australia showing railway systems. I ‘found’ it loose among a collection but I suspect it was originally part of a report from the Commonwealth Railways Department. It’s archivally mounted and backed and is in very condition for a 100+ year old map.
I’ll be bringing it to Handmade Canberra (unless sold prior).

Three eras of Canberra. From the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s, trace the changes in the city. The most obvious difference is the transformation of river to lake. Archivally framed with forestry certified Timbers, these original vintage maps measure 73 x 87. Coming to Handmade Canberra this weekend.
