Introducing the Red Lightsaber!
An homage to our red lightsaber cocktail from Spooning Goats. A fruited pastry sour (6.8%) with blueberries and dragonfruit. A deep red colour with a pink head, sour, a little bit sweet and definitely fruity! 🫐♥️

Bringing back the Mando Calrissian! We first made this one for May the 4th at Spooning Goats and we’re very excited to have brewed it for Mixtape! This Mandarin IPA sits at a very easy drinking 5.8%. Pouring Thursday, see ya there!!

The SG updated their business hours.

Can’t do much ATM but I drew up our electrical and lighting plan with notes.

Now to get a sparky!

Nice to have our brewery on site and out of storage where it’s been for the last 3 years.

Remembering the goats on this holy day of days!

Hey kids,

It’s been a long while since we have posted anything, taking time off after loosing the goats about 1 year ago.

But this happened!

It won’t be in the city and it won’t be Spooning Goats 2.0 but another thing all together with the same feel and love we have for all our customers.

We will be beer focused again and we will be making our own beer (on a small scale) as well.

More details to come as we go forward but it will be many months away at this stage :-)

Newly launched Journey Made Coffee is finally producing coffee for online orders.
You probably met Chris over our 8 years as he chewed your ear off if you came near him or the bar.
Chris has developed his coffee expertise over many years, starting with his own coffee van in Perth and culminating with his own roastery on the north coast of NSW.

Smells and tastes fantastic!

Another support local announcement as we can’t open so book some space with our mates at 1989 Arcade Bar and share the love.

WE ARE BACK!

1989 Arcade Bar will be slinging open its doors to bring beers, cocktails and good times BACK to the northern end of Newtown from 5pm on Thursday June 11th!

Even though restrictions are easing up on June 1st, we still have a few things to sort out, organise and make safe in the '89 arcade before re-opening. So we are taking our time to get everything 100% before welcoming you all back into the arcade. Your well-being is our top priority, closely followed by your booze and entertainment needs.

We will update the Facebook with our capacity soon! In the meantime you can book a table by dropping us a line at [email protected]. Covid-19 restrictions will apply, more info soon.

Our new hours from Thursday June 11th 2020 will be:

Thursday 5pm to 12am
Friday 5pm to 12am
Saturday 1pm to 12am
Sunday 5pm to 10pm

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - CLOSED

In the meantime our bottle shop will continue to be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We can't wait to see you all!!

Hey kids,

We are selling our furniture (so we don’t have to store it 🙂) so if your after something from the goats check out the pics below with prices or ONO.

Some is in good condition some not but needs some TLC.

We are looking to have everything out by Wednesday or Thursday.

Last day to get some takeaway and everything else. 🙂

We still have plenty of beer for growler fills (no extra growlers sorry) but the stout is out and Hopnation mango gose is on.

Plenty of glassware to go too.

Looks like our last days (ever) will be this
Thursday and Friday 12pm- 6pm
for takeaways and beer fills.

Come on down to clear us out of stock and say goodbye (very quickly due to restrictions). We have run out of growlers and squealers so bring down any containers for a fill up of beer.

we have glassware as well if you want a piece of the goats or even some furniture, it all has to go.

remember social distancing and we will only allow 2 people in the bar at any one time so please be patient if you come down.

We haven’t had much of a chance to get out and support other small local business as we all scramble to cope with what’s happening but finally we did.

We got 4 bottles (already drunk one! 🙂) from Wildflower Brewing & Blending yum.

With the expected full shut down coming very soon please all get out there (if you can) and support your local before we can’t.

Also thank you SOO much for making the effort to get down to our bar and clearing our stock. You are all amazing.

We may not be able to open again or you get your last drink at the goats but we are doing takeaways to try and reduce our stock before we close up.

So we are doing Growler fills of our tap beers and bottle takeaways and maybe even delivery (if you aren't too far away).

Open Thursday and Friday this week from 12pm to 6pm. you can message me to hold stock or pre order (and i can run it out to your car) or just turn up and say hi and buy. :-)

Dear Goat Community,

We are committed to the health & safety of our employees, customers, & community. This includes reinforcement of recommended procedures for minimizing the transmission of COVID-19 & the seasonal flu.
We want to be a place where our community can enjoy a drink while supporting the public health goals.
With that in mind, we have implemented the following procedures:

* Proper hand washing (20 seconds with soap under hot water) throughout the shift and use of the behind the bar hand sanitizers,
* No touching of the face, eyes, hair, head, beard, during the shift & if there is a need to do so then employees are required to wash &/or sanitize their hands immediately,
* No handshakes or hugs,
* No touching the rims or inside of glassware unless wearing gloves, & all gloves are to be discarded immediately afterward,
* Cleaning & sanitizing surfaces on a regular basis throughout the shift. This includes every countertop, table-top, taps, handrails, tap handles, door handles & bathroom doors,
* Tables will be sanitized between uses,
* All staff instructed to take sick time if ill,
* Discontinuing the use of paper menu's - attached to the chalk board,
* Only contact-less card payments will be accepted,
* Deep clean each night of the venue.

We want to thank our community for doing their part & taking some extra precautions at this time. In an effort to keep yourself, our staff, & our community healthy & safe we have a few requests when visiting us:
* When at the bar please wash your hands &/or use the hand sanitizer,
* If you are feeling sick &/or have been exposed we please ask that you stay home & take care of yourself. We’ll see you when you are feeling better.
