Attendees were able to kick back, enjoy some nibbles, learn something new and decompress with a fun cupcake decorating contest! Thank you to Dr Sadaf Warraich of Motor Neurone Disease NSW for giving us an overview of MND. Dr Warraich also shared a sneak peek of her important research investigating the possible causes of this condition. Our thanks to Mark Keaton for sharing his experience about living with cerebral palsy, and his advocacy in PDRL (Physical Disability Rugby League) and beyond. We were honoured to have Mark judge our cupcake decorating contest! Helping the community is simply BAU (business as usual) for many of our organisations, however, today was a special opportunity to roll up our sleeves at Foodbank NSW & ACT to make an impact *beyond* our business 💫 Today, we became #HungerFighters. Today, we connected. Together, we made a difference as we packed: 🍞 1,240 loaves of bread 🛒 4,624kg of food and consumables 🥗 8,323 meals A big thank you to our clients, support workers and valued partners who participated in our Volunteer Day ❤️ Our commitment to community goes beyond words— and we hope the families, schools, charities and churches feel the love we packed in every single box of food. Is your NDIS provider registered? 🤔 Early this month, the NDIS Provider and Worker Registration Taskforce released its report to the public. The fees and processes for the NDIS Worker Screening Check vary across states and territories 💡 For example: 🙋 In NSW, you’ll need to visit a service centre in person 🙅‍♂️ Victoria is taking a ‘no clearance, no start’ approach to the NDIS Check ✍️ In Queensland, you need a customer reference number (CRN) before you can apply for the check ️ The good news: the check is transferable to other NDIS employers in whatever role across Australia. You don’t need to re-apply if you travel or move interstate!
