Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable year from all Wanderers, players, supporters and sponsors. We enjoyed our last game for the year and treated some of our ladies to a relaxing drink, food and a few laughs.
We used a total of 36 players this year and although we only won 3 games for the year, everyone enjoyed playing, getting back into cricket and enjoying each others mateship.
Thanks heaps to Major sponsor Waratah Sports Club and all our awesome sponsors.
All the best in the off season and we'll see you all in October 2024 for the new sesson.

2nd GRADE REPORT: ROUND 15

Cavaliers skipper Zac Pavy won the toss and elected to bat first in their match against Kinross at Jack Brabham 4. In a low scoring affair, Toby Middleton's 28 was the highest of the innings as Cavaliers was dismissed for 111 inside 36 overs. Jack Harding (2/14), Jamie Anderson (2/10) and Charlie Anderson (2/27) all picked up doubles.

In reply, the students finished at 9-111 after 40 overs to leave the match a tie. Opener Walter Prowse made 36, while Joel Thomas (3/10) and Nick Duffy (2/23) were the multiple wicket takers.

At Bloomfield Oval, Orange City, on the back of Tim Hunt's 87 and Ollie Brincat's 33, secured a 5-wicket victory over Wanderers to stay in the hunt for a spot in the top 3. Mark Wiegold and Simon Roberts each bagged 2 wickets.

Earlier, Wanderers captain Daryl Kennewell (82) steered his side to a competitive total of 186, with Dean Turner also contributing 30 at the top of the order. Ollie Brincat picked up 3/29 to be the best of the Warriors' bowlers.

Across town at Riawena, Centrals bounced back to the winners list with an emphatic 10 wicket win over 2nd placed CYMS. Jack Judge with 4/3 off 6 overs and Rowan Dray (3/18) wreaked havoc on the CYMS lineup as they crashed to 67 all out. Angus Norton (34no) and Graeme Judge (31no) made light work of the chase.

Congratulations Metro Wanderers (AKA Glady) on thier mighty victory yesterdy in the T20 GF.
Two wickets each to Benny. E, Smithy and Langy to restrict Orange City to a competitive 128 in the first innings with only 6 extras bowled.
It didn't start well unfortunately with Smithy gone for a quacker. That was the only wicket to fall with Benny Mac and Neany making short work of the somewhat lacklustre bowling of OCC, taking just 10.4 overs to secure a masive win over their rivals. The pair scored at a 170 strike rate to dominate OCC. Only 7 extras were added in that total with the boys doing the bulk of the damage.
Well done Glady and all the best for the rest of the one day season.
