One of the things we cover in our ‘All About Seating’ two day workshop is how to develop seating and positioning goals, with Kate giving us a little snippet of the discussion during our Sydney workshop earlier this year. As well as looking at goals, Kate and Joana Santiago (Medifab) teach how to conduct a thorough MAT evaluation, how to understand and apply principles and biomechanics as applied to seating posture, and how to translate assessment findings into product parameters. You’ll also develop problem solving skills based on real case scenarios, develop clinical justification skills to write a successful application for funding and integrate knowledge learnt into product set up and clinical practice. This Permobil M5 is nearing delivery, featuring power elevating and extending legrests. To ensure the perfect fit for the user, the footplate is equipped with custom padding or spacers. In some cases, these additions are necessary when the desired legrest length cannot be achieved through wheelchair hardware adjustments alone. The spacers are constructed using durable closed cell foam with a robust ABS plastic top, ensuring resilience to withstand daily use. This M5 also boasts power elevating and extending legrests, allowing users to effortlessly adjust their leg positions for both comfort and functionality. The power elevating feature enables individuals to raise or lower the footplates, effectively distributing pressure on the legs, enhancing overall comfort, improving circulation, and preventing any unintentional shifting from their preferred seating position. Even a slight one centimetre adjustment in footplate height can make a significant difference in reducing discomfort experienced in the legs, hips, and back for many individuals. We understand that everyone has unique requirements, and that's why we're committed to providing personalised solutions to ensure the utmost comfort, functionality, and independence.

It's show time. The finals have begun

Who hates when the harness straps fall over all the place when you're trying to secure or release a chest harness? ✋We do! That's why we love a good harness set up where the straps stay put when you're working on positioning the harness. The curved edges of these Bodypoint Harness Strap Guides help to hold the harness straps in position, so that they're ready and waiting for when you want to secure the harness. It's such a tiny feature, but we're sure this chair's user and their carers will appreciate the ease of use each time they use the harness - and that's why we pay attention to the little things on a person's wheelchair or equipment.
