We are proud to have been able to support Noah, an emerging double bass player from NSW, with our Helping Hand Grant. Transporting the Double Bass to events across the country is often precarious! This grant enabled Noah to purchase a hard double bass case from The Sydney String Centre which is a massive boost to his practice as a young artist as he travels to camps and events across Australia. Looking forward to seeing you in more events Noah!

This Sunday was the world premiere of Vaije de Sueños, a work especially created for the Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Gala. This work was composed and performed by Daniel Rojas and the Inaugural Sydney Eisteddfod String Quartet with Choreography by Xanthe Geeves, and dancers from the Australian Youth Ballet.
The narrative of this ballet is inspired by the youthful pursuit for one’s dreams and hopes the ever-optimistically defiant journey from naïveté to a celebration of life - in spite of the maladies and devastating perils often placed in our path. This composition is full of Latin American musical innuendos from Argentine tango, Peruvian vals, salsa and merengue.
Thank you to BoyiMarni Connections for commissioning this piece, and Sara and Isaac who have supported the String Quartet.
Keep an eye out for an exciting update on the String Quartets trip to Italy!
