Fab feature article in about our House Anew project. We took a 1990s red brick project home and rearranged the floorplan for a contemporary spatial arrangement and accommodation, adding only 3sqm to the footprint. In doing so, we created excellent natural ventilation and lighting opportunities and shaped the internal zoning and flexibility of the dwelling. We also upgraded the building envelope for improved thermal performance, and added smart energy efficient technologies to move this house up a few star ratings ⭐. Not bad for an average project home! ...

Soaring ceiling lines and the interplay of light is pretty exciting to see at our East Willoughby project - the finishing line is coming ever closer!...

First site meeting for 2024 and it is gratifying to see so much progress on and to know that the finishing line is in sight. Also, here's to more architecture photos with people in them, especially the putting in the hard yakka on a 32deg day in Melbourne...

At the end of another year, it is good to take the time to reflect on what has been learned, what has been achieved, and on what lies ahead for our practice. Thank you to our wonderful clients, builders, consultants, and collaborators - every project takes a team, and we are grateful for your many and varied contributions!

Bijl Architecture is now closed for the Christmas holidays, and we reopen for the new year on Monday 15th January 2024. Wishing everyone a wonderful festive season!!
