'Casa Cooya' presents a timeless, strong and respectful face to the streetscape with a rhythmical colonnade. The arched form frames views of the pool, garden and living areas with a heavily textured render which diffuses the light and reinforces the simplicity of the black and white tones.

Passive environmental measures are the wide eaves, double glazed thermally-broken steel-framed doors and windows deeply recessed behind colonnades with additional active systems of hydronic underfloor heating, solar PV array and EV charging.

TKD has had a successful year of being part of many projects, both in their final construction and just starting out. We are fortunate to have such a varied team in our office to design, advise, lead and communicate these projects so well.

To the many followers, thank you for being part of our journey this year.

After 3 years of planning, design and construction, the new St Joseph's College Hunters Hill Aquatic and Fitness Project was completed on 18 August 2022.

Replacing the 1950s Memorial Pool, the new 50 x 25m outdoor pool caters for lap swimming, recreation and FINA standard waterpolo games. The new fitness building accommodates a range of weight training, aerobic and cardio trading zones and a 30m indoor sprint training track. We congratulate the College on this significant achievement and acknowledge the input of the broader team of consultants and contractors led by project managers , lead consultant Tanner Kibble Denton Architects, and the Head Contractor FDC Group.

NAIDOC week 2022- what it means to us:

> Get Up - we don't sit back and let others do things for us
> Stand Up - we raise issues when others won't
> Show up - we use our skills in advocacy and design to make a difference.

Above all, we listen and reflect and make sure our work is responsive.

The images are of The Denzil, a new indoor sports hall at Alexandria Park Community School, where we have worked with the local Aboriginal community since 2016 to develop inspirational and inclusive approaches to culture embracing language and art. Having every NAIDOC week poster since 1972 on the wall of the new hall is a powerful reminder to students and the community more broadly of the importance of this week.

TKD Architects is honoured to receive the President's Award for Dawn Fraser Baths at today's NSW National Trust Heritage Awards.

The project also received a commendation in the Adaptive Reuse Category. This unique project responds to the challenges of climate change and provides this much-loved facility a sustainable future.

Thank you to all involved and to our client, Inner West Council.

We extend thanks to our client, Inner West Council, GBA Heritage, our heritage consultants, and Belmadar, the head contractor. And of course to the many consultants, specialists and sub-contractors too numerous to name that were involved at all stages of the project.
