I remember early days in my sobriety and even today to stop and breathe through a moment where that voice says “pick up” “it will be ok” “it’s only today” along with other things to try and convince mysely that addiction was ok!

It’s far from ok! Addiction is an illness.

It wasn’t until I really embraced my sobriety, moved through the days, weeks, months and now years that I knew whatever gets thrown my way, “this too shall pass” and I don’t need to have a drink over it.

I seen this pic and thought I’d share because I think it’s important for us in sobriety to sometimes stop, observe, breathe, expand and respond. It hit home and reminded me of all the times I’ve followed those steps.

Never take your sobriety for granted because each and every day, you are borrowing it and rent is due so make sure you put things in place to ensure you maintain your new found amazing life without addiction. Always be grateful 🙏
