If you're a fan of The Crown you will adore Alexandra Joel Author's new novel, The Royal Correspondent.
I've been really quiet on here lately. I know. Lots of things happening in the background. Lots of changes afoot.
But I just had to jump on and say how much of a joy it's been building the brilliant and lovely, Belinda Alexandra's website: https://www.belinda-alexandra.com/
Belinda is such a wonderful and caring person, we worked together to make sure it suited her personality, tastes, and of course promoted her incredible backlist of books.
I'm so into creating websites. I just love it. If you're reading this and are in need of a website, come and say hello.
PS - I'm also lucky enough to have already read her new book, The Mystery Woman, and it's the best thing I've read in AGES. As Mr Meldrum says, 'Do yourself a favour'.

The last couple of years have been transformative in both my writing and my personal life. THE MYSTERY WOMAN is a new direction for me in my fiction writing, and in November my first non-fiction book, THE DIVINE FELINE: A CHIC LADY'S GUIDE TO WOMAN'S BEST FRIEND, will be published. To celebrate this I have worked with the very talented Kelly Morton to revamp my website. Go check it out at Belinda-Alexandra.com. Sign up for my newsletter. I know many of my readers would like to see more writing from me between my books and I will certainly be doing that through my blogs and newsletter. Belinda xx

In other words, call the WAH-mbulance 🚑
A few months ago I sat down to talk to a mate of mine, Kattie Thorndyke.
Kattie is the podcast host with the absolute most on The Otherwise Intelligent Woman Podcast. A podcast I love.
When Katie asked me on I wondered what on earth I would have to say that might resonate and ... when I saw that the episode was up this morning, I was a little nervous. I couldn't remember what I had said.
But I am proud of this. Proud of me.
Often I'm racing to get to the next thing. What's the next thing on the list to do?
The path here hasn't been easy.
It's rare we give ourselves the time to reflect. It was really cathartic to be able to do so. Doing it and hearing it back. It's like a little time capsule now.
Thank you again, Kattie. It was an honour and also just really fun to chat with you.

I think we’ve found the inspiration for the new FB reaction... 😁
A very, very silly word indeed.
And it has p**p in it 💩
A celebration of silly words!
Words that are joyous or make you smile.
The sillier the better.⠀
'Ows about some Victorian-era slang for ya 💬
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do you reckon? Is this a word you'll add to your vocab?
It's a good day for a first draft. Whatta ya say? 🗣

Hi friends, have you been zooming? Wine and Zoom? Zoom for business?
Please take a moment to update your password. Even if you don't think this could be you.
First up, don't panic.
👉 Go into ZOOM and update your password.
👉 Make sure it's not a password you use anywhere else
👉 If for any reason you DO use that password in another place, update THAT password too.
👉 Consider using a password manager like LastPass going forward
https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2020/04/zoom-password-hack/
500,000 Zoom Account Breaches Reminds Us Not To Be Sloppy With Passwords This week it was discovered that over 500,000 compromised Zoom accounts have been sold on the Dark Web and other hacker forums. As it turns out the majority of the passwords were old and had been previously breached. This serves as a reminder to update your passwords....
Friends, it's been a weird old week and I confess my heart hasn't quite been in it.
Maybe you can relate?
It's hard when you're just not feeling it so I hope that these dates I've collected for you, are something you can just have FUN with.
If I've missed anything in April, I'd love to hear from ya.
Be kind to each other✨

'tis the season 🤷
This is an obsolete word that's fallen out of fashion but ... there's never been a better time to bring it back.
Am I right?
There are lots of posts up at the moment about what you can/could/should be doing right now.
People are trying to help and I really love that.
It’s worth noting … some people aren’t and well … they stick out like dog’s balls. *I must google where this expression came from later* 🤔
I’ve worked in social media/digital through many a crisis before. Deaths, a siege, marketing campaigns gone horribly, horribly wrong, death threats, natural disasters etc
There are a few things I know about working during times of uncertainty and I thought it would be useful for me to share them:
👉 First rule of social media (crisis or not) If you're ever NOT sure what to post, DON’T.
👉 Secondly, go through anything you already planned or scheduled and make sure there are no words/ideas/images there that may be insensitive to the current climate.
👉 Do you have any advertising scheduled? Take a look at it again. It might be an idea to pause it for now or make sure you adjust the copy.
I’m not saying you should stop everything right now, only if it doesn’t feel right for you or your intended audience.
👉 Should you go quiet, or say something? No one can answer this but you. I say this with kindness. If it feels right to say nothing, that’s the right course of action for you.
No one should be worried about likes and metrics right now, and if they are … 👋 BYE Felicia.
👉 You can still be ‘business as usual’, just be sensitive. What sounded/seemed excellent last week may be completely tone-deaf today.
👉 Most importantly, think about how your community/audience might be feeling. Look at what they are saying/posting. How can you help them?
For me, there are lots of ways books and words are the answer right now. They are escapism. They are hope.
If you have any questions or are just feeling really unsure, please feel free to send me a message. We’re in this together ♥️
I'll be real. Today is the first day I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all the coronavirus chat.
It's a lot.
I am also exhausted. It's been a massive week and ... well ... I mean what I said! 👇
Please hit me with your book recommendations! What have you been reading that's been a beautiful escape?
Ah. To be truly unruly and free again.⚡️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
