The club has no position on Jesus and cannot confirm, nor deny, whether he indeed saves. We know who does save, that's one Sebby "Great posture" SchΓ€fer!
Congratulations to Will Heggarty who is our 2023 Fredrik Butler Wang Student Athlete Award winner!!!
Our award is in honour and everlasting memory of his excellency who last year balanced his studies and athletic commitments by simultaneously banging goals and subbing himself off to complete his Astronomy Online Exam Final using a mate's hotspot. Will exemplified the same character that Freddy did before him by going all the way to Canberra for the club, debuting, and smashing out an Evidence in Health exam.
We don't want the D, we need the HD.

In their second fixture of the weekend the UNSW Cubs took on Canberra with a number of UNSW players also backing up to support the Cubs.
The match was an even contest throughout however fatigue and suspensions cost the Cubs with Canberra quick to convert several fast breaks and build a blowout lead. To the Cubs credit, they were quick to learn what worked in attack and continued to replicate it throughout the match.
UNSW REIGN SUPREME IN MATCH OF ATTRITION
An absolutely dogged fight between the Men in Black and today with both sides understaffed and playing through injuries.
The Kenso Boys threw out the playbook for this one and the game plan was a throwback to their ethos in 2018 under coach Nir Peled, "SLOW ON THREE! 1, 2, 3!" and to call timeouts every ten mins.
Three new debutants joined the side in and and all impressed, getting on the scoresheet and having strong performances with all players playing a full 60mins. A slow start by both sides but the New South Service chugged along and pulled out a convincing lead in the first half which they maintained throughout. Solid effort boys!

SPARTA? THIS ISNT SPARTA! THIS! IS! KENSINGTON!!!
Tight and well contested bout between the and Men in Black with blows traded for the entirety of the match. A last second blue card and penalty for the Spartanz granted them the chance to equalise the match, but as the song goes: "He saves to the left! He saves to the riiiiight! NEW SOUTH'S .schaefer ! The 2023 Oceania Club Championships ends with a 6th place for the Men in Black. Not the most desirable result for the boys but a memorable week with plenty of positives to take away going forward.
The boys now set course for Wellington, New Zealand where they'll compete in the NZ Club Championships in September!
Thank you to all of our sponsors who got us to Canberra!
OOOOOOOOOOOOS! The Men in Black really took it to in the second match of their campaign in the OHCC taking them into the halftime break one goal behind at 16-15. Very strong and physical bout between the two Uni clubs from Sydney making for a very entertaining match, perhaps the most exciting thing to ever happen in Canberran history - though we are yet to visit the Canberra Museum to verify π Sydney Uni's superior fitness and depth off the bench led to the final margin with Sydney Uni walking away victors. Great game Sydney Uni and good luck!
