Is your school ready to take part in National Child Protection Week? 🏫

🗓️ From 1 to 7 September, this year's theme of ‘Every conversation matters’ is an opportunity to recognise and promote how conversations can be powerful tools to keep children and young people safe and well.

In support of this, we're running virtual classrooms tailored for students in Years 3 to 6.

🚩 Students will learn how to identify warning signs and spot ‘red flags’, along with strategies for staying safe if they come across harmful or dangerous situations when they’re online.

Register your class today: https://news.esafety.gov.au/3OkMfeS

The webinars run for about 45 minutes and include resources and links to further information and support.

The feminist case for peace 05/12/2023

"Feminism stands for our shared humanity. It demands that we all live freely and equally, that we all have autonomy and dignity. It holds that one life is not worth more than another; not based on gender, not based on race, religion, sexuality, disability, or any other characteristic."

Read 'The Feminist Case for Peace' in the free feminist publication Impact.

The feminist case for peace This week, I am sharing the views of feminist advocates on the case for a meaningful peace between Palestinians and Israelis. I do so in the hope that these insights will be useful to all of us who are overwhelmed and appalled by the horror and suffering this war has wrought.

Congratulations to Kasturi on passing her driver's license test!

"I'm a single mum with three daughters and I also work. When I picked my girls up from After School Care with my license they were so excited. They said 'Next you'll become a doctor Mummy'. The next goal is to save for a car. Ali is a good teacher with 25-30 years of experience and knows how important it is for us single mothers to get our licenses."

Kasturi received subsidised lessons through our Linking Women to Learning program,

OWN's Linking Women to Learning program helps women and girls from minority communities overcome barriers to community and workforce participation.

Linking Women to Learning has been made possible with grant funding from Inner West Council. 🙏
