Happy Australia Day! For me I acknowledge I am not part of the indigenous ancestors that inhabited this land prior to British Colonisation. I wish the atrocities that happened to our indigenous did not happen. It was beyond my time and what I can control.
I was born and bred in Australia since the first fleet arrived. I do not consider myself more or less Australian than those here for thousands of years or those who were naturalised today. I am in awe of ancestry regardless of where we come from. We all have a story. It’s not surprising that my ancestry includes Vikings. I mean look how freaking tall I am lol. I am proud of the Australian way of life. There is room for improvement always, with love of humanity in our hearts nothing is impossible.
*my pendant is the 1950 penny I found of Dad’s ( - his birth year) after he passed. It’s so incredibly special to me 💕
