The word "regression" sounds like a bad thing. I get that. Everyone is obsessed with progress, and we relentlessly push forward in pursuit of our goals. But here's the thingβregressions help you achieve all of your fitness-related goals faster. The majority of people will view a regression as a shot against their ego. Remember, if you take the time to fix faulty or aberrant movements, it's only going to make you better in the long run. Regressions are all about building a strong foundationπ―π₯ When that foundation is in place, you'll become a much stronger, faster, and healthier person than you could ever be without it. So, what actually is a regression? A regression is scaling back an exercise. Take the push-up, for example. Let's say we're programming push-ups (on toes), and a @soul_fit_training member is not demonstrating the ability to perform the exercise with good technique and form. A regression would be to perform the exercise on their knees or on a wall or a rack. This allows for better positioning, technique, confidence builder, and injury preventionπͺ Regressions are all about scaling back to meet individual needs at their current skill and ability levelπ€π₯ We hope you find this information useful.
