2024 Tamworth Cup Family Fun Day

Here we are, 2024 Tamworth Cup Family Fun Day. First race 1:30pm. Bar, Canteen, Bookie, Face painting, Jumping Castle. CASH ONLY, no card facilities on track.

Race 1 Rob Munn Bookmaker Appreciation 457m

The red runner is coming off a nice Maitland win in a fair 22.49, can begin and should take advantage of this draw, 4 was a fair run at Maitland on Thursday, has been off the track for some time before that seems to be getting ready to show up. 7 to fill the minor placing.
Race 2 Peel Valley traffic Control/Curly Craig Memorial 402m Final

5 wasn’t too bad of a run in heat beaten by 2.5 in a fair 23.64, think he can improve in this with some luck from the draw, worth another chance. 8 was a nice heat winner from this box in 23.46, this a little harder, can win if it repeats heat win. 3was beaten a fair way and place best here
Race 3 GRNSW Appreciation Masters 402m

8 is a stand out in this, winner of 19 races, drawn to win and should just do so. 7 and 4 to fill the minors.
Race 4 John Jordan memorial Final 402m

Have to stick to the 6 in this has won his last 2 here in 23.33 then 23.03, draw not the best but with any luck should just be winnings again. 4 was impressive last week in heat win, running a nice 23.29 maybe the upset runner in this. 2 was a heavily supported fav last week in heat win, this looks harder and will need some improvement on clock to win this.
Race 5 Race day staff appreciation 340m

6 a real nice win last week in 20.28 from the red rug, if she can begin should see a repeat of last week. 7 was disappointing last week when finishing 5th, giving a chance to redeem himself this week in this race. 2 for the minor end of the prize.
Race 6 John Cini Cannonball 340m
Selections- 7,2,6
Open race with any of the 8 having a chance here, I've gone with the 7 after a Dubbo win last week, is in form and can crack this one. 2 was disappointing last week over the 402, drops back to 340 this week and this is right up his ally, big chance. 6 has good form and can show in the numbers here.
Race 7 Mikeloren Patisserie Appreciation 340m

3 was a big winner last week in a slick 19.81, should be adding to her win tally here. 7 is always there about's and does have some chance in this with right run. 4 to fill minor end.
Race 8 A & M Cleaning Tamworth Cup Final, 457m

Jamie Bush has half the field in this and I think the trifecta is his. Im sticking with the little champ Jeanie Cargo winner of last 2 here, heat win was great, has run 25.63 here, always turns up to race and big chance to take back to back Tamworth Cups. 1 was a good run last week behind Jeanie cargo, drawn ok and I feel can run a big race. Julia Bush proved too big and strong in heat win clocking the fastest heat win in 25.82 from this box, this a little harder against her kennel mates but will be thereabouts at the right end of the race. 1 was very unlucky last start only going down by nose from this draw, looks to be the winner here and has a big motor. 2 was a eye catcher last week running 2nd with a time of 20.18 he could be the upset dog in this with some luck. 7 place chance

Day 2 of the Tamworth Cup Carnival has been run and won and what a massive day it was.

Shorting into 1.20 favorite now to win the trainer of the carnival is the one and only Jamie Bush. Jamie took the quinella in both of the A & M Cleaning service Tamworth heats today. Jeanie Cargo was first to score winning heat 1 in 25.87 beating kennel mate Franky Bear by 0.75. Heat 2 seen Julia Bush win by 1.75 in the best of the day of 25.82 defeating kennel mate Mick The Master. Jamie will take 4 of the 8 boxes in next weeks 5k to winner Tamworth Cup final.
The 8 finalists are Jeanie Cargo, Franky Bear, Fantastic Ralph, Cherokee Outlaw, Julia Bush, Mick The Master, Hey Mickey, My Lady Panama. Best of luck to all.

John Jordan Memorial heats seen Maggie Jean score heat 1 by 1 length in 23.29, Heat 2 was taken by Jamie Bushes Joe Cargo running away for a 9 length win- in a smart 23.03 and heat 3 went to Rustic Rango for Nev Hand in 23.40 winning by 1.75.

Glen Muller scored a back to back race double winning race 3 with Hara's Trixie in best of day 19.81 then race 4 with Smiling Olive in 20.05, great to see Glen come away with a double.

Local trainers to grab some cash were race 1 Impress Rousey for Mark Munn and race 2 Just Black for John Eather.

Very very open race this, 4 has had some recent 2nds and may just break maiden here on 35th start, 1 could be drawn well and may just slip along rails in this. Prefer to just watch this race.
Race 2 Happy Birthday Xavier 340m
Selections- 1,7,2
1 run a nice 2nd last week with a corrected time of 20.25, if repeats this time will go very close, Kennel mate 7 was fancied last start but failed to fire, drawn wide again so should keep safe.
Race 3 Race Day Staff Appreciation 340m
Selections- 8,2,7
Massive win last week from box 6 in a smart 20.05, drawn wide again and repeat of that run should be winning again here. 2 is consistence in collecting prize money and should collected again in this, possible danger if handles track.
Race 4 Mikelorean Patisserie Appreciations 340m
Selections- 7,4,5
Nice 3rd placing last week with a corrected time of 20.26 could race away with this not overly strong race. 4 is up in grade but is consistence and can sneak into the money here.
Race 5 A & M Cleaning Tamworth Cup Heat 1, 457m
Selections- 3,1,6
Hardest heat of the 2 and a few with a chance, but I’m sticking with 3 here, winner of 2023 Tamworth Cup running slick 25.63 and coming off a very smart 22.96 run last week, she is a very smart greyhound and will let them know she is there. 1 has been absolutely hammered in the early market, is a quick young dog who has stopped clock @ Gunnedah is a blistering 24.41, drawn to run a big race, if left alone could easily run away with this heat win. 6 is also a quick dog on his day, will need everything to go his way to win this, but if he can lead may take some running down if he keeps eye on the lure.
Race 6 A & M Cleaning Tamworth Cup Heat 2, 457m
Selections- 6,5,4
6 has had 18 outings for 11 wins, is in good form running a recent 24.67 @ Gunnedah and just looks to have the edge on these. 5 is the kennel mate was a nice 2nd last week, should progress to final next week, 4 is a quick dog from down the from, was a little disappointing @ first look here last week, now had a look at track may just improve.
Race 7 Greyhounds As Pets Maiden 402m
Selections- 3,4,6
This is a very open race and 3 just looks the winner, has seen some early support in market, should just win. 4 and 6 to fill the placings But again I’ll sit and watch these go round.
Race 8 John Jordan Memorial Heat 1 402m
Selections- 1,5,3
1 coming off a 20.13 steward’s trial last week looks to be the winner in this, having won 6 from 16, drawn well and from a strong kennel should get the job done. 5 can be a danger having run 23.40 here, dropping back in grade may just help her.
Race 9 John Jordan Memorial Heat 2 402m
Selections- 8,2,1
8 was an impressive winner last week from box 4, drawn even better today and should be collecting the chocolates here, another runner who has been smashed in the market. 2 has had some nice wins a few runs back, having first look here could be the upset if any to the 8.
Race 10 John Jordan Memorial Heat 3 402m
Selections- 6,7,4
6 was impressive winner @ last start at Gunnedah in 19.61, coming off a fair trial here last week, but still looks winner if it can repeat the 19.61 Gunnedah run, has seen some very good support in early betting market. 7 was a winner last week from this draw and drawn well again but will need to find luck, if there is a mix up she will be powering home right down the outside.
