Mid Coast you can be proud of your leaders in Mid Coast 4 Kids. Over the past two days they have done you proud, reaffirming their commitment and fronting up to the challenge of what itβs going to take to give every child and young person in the Mid Coast the opportunity to thrive. The foundations have been laid to scale our impact - watch this space and be excited. We are!
Mid Coast 4 Kids spent the day reflecting on good partnering practice ahead of an intensive planning session to design a new governance framework and funding model capable of scaling and sustaining our work over time.
Michelle Halse, Director of Living Collaborations and Associate and Trainer with the Partnership Brokers Association supported the group to complete an introductory module in partnership brokering, as a primer to planning discussions.
An exciting and challenging couple of days in the life of Mid Coast 4 Kids.

Mid Coast 4 Kids with the support of Mission Australia launched the 'Strong Smart Settled Program' this week in partnership with Nabiac Public School, Tuncurry Public School and Great Lakes College Tuncurry Campus. Funded by the NSW Department of Education Student Well-Being Innovation Fund, we are working with the students and staff to design an innovative program to support students in the transition from primary school to high school. Grounded in the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth's Common Approach Framework, we aim to give these students and others just like them an increased sense of confidence and improved well-being as they step into this important stage of their learning journey.
Mid Coast 4 Kids with the support of Mission Australia have been working closely alongside The Resilience Project in the wake of recent environmental disasters to support our kids to use the tools of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness to build resilience ahead of future disaster events.
This year, the NSW Government supported us to continue this program enabling Tinonee Public School, Nabiac Public School, Tuncurry Public School, Harrington Public School, Lansdowne Public School and Coolongolook Public School to embed these skills for a further 12 months. That is 913 Mid Coast kids better prepared to meet life's challenges.
