Into the Backwoods

Every Tuesday we head to the Pro Patria Centre in Wagga to assist with the garden to plate program, by growing beautiful fruit and veggies in their garden. It's a great opportunity to network with others, whilst having the opportunity to assist a great group of people. Growing food together is the best way to do it. If you haven't heard heard of Pro Patria, I recommend doing some research on the amazing work they are doing.

Wow!! What a weekend. Sharing our vision with others and creating community. I'm so inspired. We feel such passion to restore our land and involve our community so that they can experience the transformitive powers of regenerating land. Our environment is a reflection of ourselves, if it suffers, we suffer. If it heals, so do we. Let's do this together ❤️

Water is life.
Where better to spend a sun set than grounding on some skins in one of our earth chairs next to some water.
These canals are our aquatic garden beds designed to grow edible water plants and deliver water and nutrients to our ridges irrigating the landscape below.
Over time they will accumulate organic matter and become a garden bed that runs the length of the contour.
We have around 7km of these waterways on our property.

Our team has had a busy week. We went for a trip to Wagga with the Platform Y Green Team Temora Youth to check out Erin Earth. What a fantastic location and great team of people building an amazing site. If you haven't been to Erin Earth yet I recommend you do. It's an oasis in the middle of wagga city. So great to be building relationships with these wonderful groups and sharing this with our enthusiastic youth.

Had an awesome garden adventure with the Pro Patria Centre garden team this week visiting some fantastic spaces in Wagga. So motivating and inspiring seeing what's going on in our region. And the potential for growing food in any space.
If you haven't yet heard of the patria centre do check them out. They are doing some amazing work with veterans and their communities.

Its been a while since I've been on here. Life just gets away from you sometimes. With the change of season I'm starting to focus on getting my winter seeds in and preparing the garden beds. I'm probably a little bit slow, but better late then never. I'm really keen this year to grow as much as we can ourselves and really nourish our bodies with homegrown, chemical free food. Some of the things I'm planting at the moment- broccoli, carrots, broad beans, snow peas, sugar snap peas and cauliflower.
