CIA recently supplied 4100sqm of concrete panels to Pittman Building Service for their bulky goods/retail development at Rutherford.

These concrete panels were manufactured and delivered over a 7 week period to keep the project on track for the client and meet a tight deadline.

Back out at Mount View Estate Winery last week with Monado Constructions and the roofing on the main structure is underway. Materials were sourced from various suppliers to achieve a practical yet architectural finish for this fully insulated building. Thanks to Skrewitroofing pty ltd for your work on this one, can't wait to see the next stages complete.

We recently manufactured some precast concrete panels for Brown Commercial Building's latest project in Wagga Wagga. Manufacture was completed to the usual CIA standards of the highest quality and was delivered in line with the construction timeline, resulting in a happy client.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Day to day general workshop cleaning
- Provide assistance to concreters, finishers and trades
- Learn all aspects of the precast concrete industry
- Other duties as directed by the Division and Production Managers

REQUIREMENTS

- Previous concrete experience preferred, however not essential
- Must be eligible to participate in and undertake a traineeship (Certificate III in Concreting)
- Be self-motivated with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent people skills; the ability to converse with all levels within an organisation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to multitask, problem solve and organise activities with good time management
- Ability to work as part of a team and be accountable for your own actions
- Be approachable and relatable

- Have a current WHS/OHS construction induction
- Be a self-motivator
- High attention to detail
- Work safely and comply with all site safety standards
- Have a current drivers licence to access sites across the region
- Show a commitment to safe work practices including being able to pass a drug and alcohol screening, including on-site random testing

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

- High volume of fabrication and welding of structural steel products
- Use of machines such as manual cut-off saws, punches and guillotines to complete jobs
- MIG welding
- Ensure that all work meets with the quality requirements
- Safe use of welding tools and equipment
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Quality control and accuracy of products

REQUIREMENTS

- Have proven experience as a Boilermaker
- Hold a trades qualification in Boilermaking
- Previous heavy industry experience
- Must have extensive experience with the fabrication of structural steel
- MIG welding experience
- Have a current Forklift (LF) Ticket
- Overhead crane experience, a high advantage
- Must be able to read, interpret and understand shop drawings
- Must be hands-on and complete tasks that are necessary to meet deadlines

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the purpose of this role involves spray painting, blasting and application work of fabricated steel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Spray painting and blasting of structural steel
- Application work

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Spray painting, blasting and application work
- Preparation, undercoating and final coat
- Set up equipment, sanding and masking up
- Mix and blend paints
- Working with fabricated steel
- Follow and meet paint specs
- Complete high quality finishes
- Manual handling
- General workshop work as required
- Be able to prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure that all work meets with the quality assurance requirements
- Safe use of power, hand tools and equipment
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment

REQUIREMENTS

- Have proven experience as a Spray Painter and Blaster
- Hold a relevant trades qualification
- Previous heavy industry experience
- Must be hands-on and complete tasks that are necessary to meet deadlines
- Proven interpersonal and multitasking skills
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- The ability to multitask, problem solve and organise activities with excellent time management
- Have attention to detail
- Have the ability to take and follow direction and instructions
- Be responsible and take accountability for your role and duties
- Have a valid driver’s licence

PLEASE NOTE: The successful applicant will be required to undertake a full pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test, then participate in random on site testing.
