5 tips to weight loss⦠it may seem simple but can be VERY hard. These tips not only will assist in weight loss but will improve your health.
Ever feel tired or feel like you canβt reach your fullest potential in your workouts at certain times of your cycle? Me too and thereβs good reason. Our bodies are putting alot of energy into preparing for menstruation and our hormones fluctuate to coordinate the processes required to menstruate.
The length and experience of each phase of the menstrual cycle varies from person to person. This information is a guide and of course if you feel up to it can continue your normal training regime throughout the menstrual cycle.
MENSTRUAL PHASE-This phase is when you have your period. Progesterone and oestrogen levels are low coupled with bleeding you may feel tired. As your progress through the menstrual phase your hormones begin to level out.
FOLLICULAR PHASE- This phase actually begins at day one of your menstrual cycle and continues to ovulation. Itβs a time where your body produces a hormone called FSH. Along with this also have higher levels of oestrogen and you will experience increased energy and drive. The perfect time to push yourself in your workouts.
OVULATORY PHASE- Similar to the follicular phase you have high levels of oestrogen and is often a time of high energy.
LUTEAL PHASE- The final phase before you menstruate. At the beginning of this phase you will have higher energy levels, as your progress through this phase energy levels will decrease as oestrogen levels start to fall.
I often hear of people cutting or greatly reducing carbs when trying to lose weight. Adding to this they increase their physical exercise. Whilst reducing calories and increasing physical exercise is a great way to move unwanted body fat, carbs play a pivotal role is energy levels and bodily functionsβ¦
