You Are Loved - Emily Roussell
We love this photo from Lizzy, who says:
'I called ABA Breastfeeding Helpline many many times in those early days and weeks and read nearly every article on the website trying so hard to understand what my body and my baby were trying to do.
'The volunteer counsellors were all so helpful and took the time, at all hours of the day and night, to talk things through and problem solve. I learnt from you how to diagnose and self treat blocked ducts, had success with the hilarious but very effective dangle feeding, and learnt to trust my baby and my breasts.
'I’m so proud of myself, and my baby girl for getting this far!'
Thank you for sharing, and congratulations on your breastfeeding journey!
We get it - the mess, the worry, your dear baby crying so often ... big hugs for you!

“Listen earnestly to anything
your children want to tell you,
no matter what. If you don't
listen eagerly to the little stuff
when they are little, they won't
tell you the big stuff when they
are big, because to them all of it
has always been big stuff.”

✨The uterus is considered a free floating organ, supported by 14 ligaments, nestled between the bladder & bowels. ✨It has the capacity to shift & move, to grow & shrink not only during pregnancy but also during each & every menstrual cycle. ✨ A non-menstruating uterus weighs about 4oz, but by the end of pregnancy these same ligaments must support an organ that now averages aprox 11lbs ✨The amount of strain incurred on the uterus can be likened to first degree musculoskeletal strain - with a recovery time taking much more than 6 weeks ✨ Healing the uterine ligaments is a primary reason why profound REST is so important during the fourth trimester 🛌 May we all live with strength & vitality & without prolapse ✊🏻

“Is my baby too big?”
When it comes to fitting through the pelvis, head size is less important than the angle of the baby’s head. When baby’s chin is tucked, their flexed head measures smaller than the same size. Balancing the pelvic muscles and smarter birth positions to help baby curl their spine and tuck their chin are part of the Spinning Babies® protocol. Follow the link to learn all the reasons baby's size doesn’t have to complicate your birth.

Language is important.
Please don’t ever refer to a baby as a piraña - that image stays will you.
‘My youngest is 3.5 years old and still happily nursing. She will wean when she is good and ready.’: Breastfeeding mom says ‘we do it out of the love we have for our children’ “Sometimes when people hear that my children nurse for much longer than what is seen as normal, they get weird and disgusted. This is exactly why we are so passionate about these photos and normalizing breastfeeding."
