It’s been a minute since I’ve been active on here, honestly social media is not my thing but I accept it’s the reality we’ve all seemed to come accustomed to and depend on…

I’m still around just taking a step back from trying to chase engagement, follows and likes for the sake of it.

You’ll find me chasing sunsets and memories with those who mean the most to me instead 🫶

It’s been a while between posts and a while between making hats 😩

Back in the real world means having not much time to think about let alone practicing my craft and enhancing my skills.

I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve but feeling a little stuck at the moment so here’s a picture of me on K’Gari wearing one of my favourite Jillaroo Hats.

I’ve been wearing one of my favourite prototype Jillaroo Hats to work in the city lately on the train and walking to the office.

I find it amusing seeing people look in curiosity and take sneaky photos or comment to each other “hey look at that hat!”

I’ve had a few kind and supportive people actually ask me about it and have since become amazing customers in the making (watch this space!).

My ultimate goal is for instead of people saying “Wow, that’s a cool Akubra with the pony tail hole, where did you get it?” that people start saying “That’s a cool Jillaroo!”

Physically I’m on a train going to work but spiritually I’m here, a million miles away and staring into nothing taking photos of my hats.

Watching the world go by wearing my one of kind Jillaroo Hat - as you can see without a hole for my hair, this time! 😉

I get asked a bit “can you make me a hat without a hole? I don’t have enough hair for a ponytail!”

Yes, of course I can make a hat without a hole in it!

All Jillaroo Hats start as a normal hat and are customised and modified to accommodate your long hair.

Not my usual style, but I’m really enjoying this little number, the simplicity is spot on.

This piece was initially going to be a western style high sides cowboy hat, then I cut the brim too short 🤦‍♀️

So here we are with a sweet little fedora in the softest blue you’ve ever seen.
Would suit a size 56-57 and currently does not have a hole for your ponytail.

- boater hat shape (crown can be reshaped slightly within reason)
- fit a size 59-60
- can be remade to suit your size, I have enough left over of the band materials

I wish you could feel the softness of the felt, the firmness of the shape and see the colours in real life.

Due to an unprecedented demand (I really wasn’t expecting it!) I’m closing orders for 2023 to focus on getting you the best quality product to wear with pride and joy.

I never wanted to “mass produce” another hat for the market and so each piece is made to order, from scratch by hand and takes anywhere from 3-6 weeks to complete, especially when I go back to my full time job (boo!).

Any colour, shape, style and finishing are available, designed together from start to finish.

As much as I love putting on my boots, kicking up the red dirt and heading west, I’m looking forward to spending some time on K’Gari with the salty hair, sandy toes and good friends.
