Quality Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic with Kenworth & Cummins experience wanted to join our Progressive Transport Maintenance Team.

Woods Transport is part of a well established family owned group of companies (Woods Group) with Depots in Goondiwindi, Toowoomba & Brisbane. Woods Transport has a fleet of over 40 Kenworth & DAF prime movers and 125 trailers, all maintained at the company’s new and expanding Toowoomba Workshop. Our maintenance approach is to ensure longevity of the fleet and minimise breakdowns. A large portion of our work is conducted in South East Qld, however we do have customers in Central Qld & Northern NSW. Woods Transport is accredited to NHVR Maintenance and takes pride in the safety of our equipment, people and other road users. Team development and further relevant training & tooling is considered beneficial to the entire Company.

The successful candidate will be required to:

Trade certificate
HR/ MC Licence
Be competent with Kenworth & Cummins products
Be competent with BPW, TMC & Hendrickson Suspension components
Electrics and Air-Conditioning experience is highly regarded
Conduct Callout/ Breakdown repairs
High attention to detail of all fleet components
Accurate fault assessment and diagnosis
Operate a Forklift
Operate vehicles safely
Utilise electronic communication to have access to:
Driver schedule approx. 1 day in advance
Maintenance & Tyre rotation schedule
Cummins - insight program for diagnosis
Pre-start, fault reporting & repair programs
Complete accurate records/ job sheets
About You

To be successful for this role the following is an advantage:

Trade qualified with 5+ years experience
Multi-Combination (MC) Licence
Forklift Licence
Road Ranger Gearbox experience
Electronic systems knowledge and experience
Fully equipped toolbox
Ability to complete scheduled tasks and to required industry standards
Commitment to safety of fleet, personnel and road users
Productive team member and positive attitude
A great work ethic, good sense and initiative to learn repair & maintenance tasks
Pride in your quality of work & cleanliness of your work area/ workshop

Previous leading hand/ supervisor experience
Applicants with a positive can do attitude and relevant Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic experience may be considered for a Maintenance Role to expand into an Leading Mechanic role.

Quality MC Operator with A Double/ Road Train and or AB Triple experience for Container Movements wanted to join our Progressive Transport Team. Opportunity exists for morning and afternoon/night shifts.

Woods Transport has a fleet of over 40 Kenworth & DAF prime movers and 125 trailers, all maintained at the company’s new and expanding Toowoomba depot. Our maintenance approach is to ensure longevity of the fleet and minimise breakdowns. A large portion of our work is conducted in South East Qld, however we do have customers in Central Qld & Northern NSW. Container Drivers return home every night.

The successful candidate will be required to:

Transport Containers of agriculture products to the wharf for export.
Operate a Forklift
Perform pre-start and post–operational checks on the equipment, reporting faults to be scheduled for maintenance.
Operate vehicles safely & take advantage of in-cab electronic equipment.
Utilise electronic communication to have access to:
Driver schedule approx. 1 day in advance
Maintenance & Tyre rotation schedule
Permits, Procedures, Site maps & other relevant information
Pre-start & fault reporting
Complete accurate records during loading, transport and transfers as required.
About You

Position requires a Sunday AM start with a Friday AM finish for the week in late model Prime Movers, possible 5 nights away in sleeper cab.
