So privledged to be able to draw the beautiful Otis! Thankyou Lisa Rowan
I am proud to announce that I have been selected to have both pieces feature in the 2023 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition π₯Ήπ₯Ή
They will be a part of 280 artworks showing in King George Square from 6-12 October as a major event of Queensland Mental Health Week.
All artists have a lived experience of mental health and have used art in way or another as a form of healing π
Want to make a special shout out to my mum Liz Chambers for being the one to show and inspire me to draw. She is always my go to for final approvals, even if it means I have to redo a piece π
π₯Ή
Also to Skye Elizabeth Carroll and Jenna Dann, your impact on little school Caitlyn was huge in showing me that I can take pride in my work and be confident in presenting them to much bigger audiences as well as expanding my artistic abilities and developing my style and expression.
I will still never forget when Jenna made me draw and fill an A3 page for a year 12 piece because my work was too itty bitty and petite ππ
I am so excited and so honoured to have this once in a lifetime opportunity ππ
Ready with their new frames, hanging hooks and cords for delivery to Recovered Futures Art Exhibition for selection!
Will find out mid to late August of the outcome...
Hopefully, with any luck, will be given the opportunity to be a featured artist in the 2023 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition, exhibiting in King George Square in October πππ
It's been a while! But fear not, I am still doing my portraiture works, have just been dealing with some serious health issues.
I am also still accepting commission order so please do not hesitate to get into contact with me!
Here are some photos of my most recent works!
Hello everyone!
I wanted to give a little update surrounding my business.
Due to changing family circumstances, in the new year, my business will be relocated to Brisbane π€©
Fear not though! I will still be accepting commissions but will now post the final commissions as the majority of my business still occurs here in Townsville.
I will endeavour to complete all outstanding commissions before the new year, but that will be subject to change.
Thankyou for all your support! I am excited for the new year and what it means for my business and personal plans! π€©π₯³

I havent posted in a while but news flash... I've just graduated high school!
I havent really done much lately but as one December I'm getting back into it.
I have done a little bit more on this one here.
Im hoping to progress a little more on it with the hand but I am liking how its shaped it so far.
As always, I'll reveal the title, story, meaning behind it once it is finished
So what this space!
Since my schooling journey is coming to a close, I was thinking of starting to do commissioned works and was keen on people thoughts...
Comment below if you think I should and also comment if you (or anyone you know) would be keen.
Well its finished! Finally!
Current title at the moment is below but I'm not a fan... so is subject to change. Welcome to any suggestions as well that can be commented.
'Scream: 2020 in a Nutshell'
This one is looking at a number of different things. I started it a good couple months ago when corona was still running rampant. I just didn't know what to do or how to process it that was all people talked about. The stats, the facts, the new updates, rules, lock downs, restrictions...
But I also made it in response to the darker, more silent part of corona... The stuff people didn't initially talk about. Mental Health. People scream silently for help. Too scared to speak out. Sometimes you feel like you are struggling to breathe and you just are slowly dying....
Lives are precious and as I have learnt recently, can be dashed in an instant with no warning... Savour every moment with the people around you.
And never forget, you are loved. You are worth it...
Unfortunately I haven't been able to work on many artworks and the moment and I noticed I havent posted in a while so I made this little video.
P.S I am aware some of the photos are really bad quality but I thought the video would still be interesting.
Before and After shots of another painting done...
Been too long...
Another WIP update
Another WIP.
Thought though it be interesting to highlight that this is getting to the stage where the artist starts to hate on their work. They think it looks ugly and can pick apart all the tiny little flaws. But it's important that you see it through.
I've found that it almost always gets better and the result is worth it...
I know I've shared this artwork before but I thought I'd share a bit of the meaning behind it
Sometimes in life, it feels like we are lost in the dark with no way out...
Sometimes, we are fighting the demons in our heads and we feel like no one understands.
Sometimes, we feel like a sinking ship and that we are about to drown....
To those who feel like drowning, there is so much good in the world. There is always someone standing with you cheering you on. The raging winds and storms that swirl around you will pass...
Take courage. The wind will pass...

Here is an update for you all...
I have finished my last ever highschool Visual Art assignment!
To be honest, it hasn't sunk in yet and I'm kind of sad.
But I thought I would share it all with you...
The title of this piece is 'You Choose Your Destiny'
It is a mixed media piece looking at the impacts of childhood trauma/child abuse.
It seems to be that as every month passes by, more and more reports of horrific acts emerge. Sadly, the consequence of this is that almost every fortnight a child is killed by their parents and the number of children in out-of-home care has doubled in the last decade.
Why do we have this existential rate of increase?
Why is this slipped under the rug?
Why do we have stories of children being finally diagnosed at the young and tender age of nine with post-traumatic stress disorder after years of awful abuse from adult figures?
Why do we have children describing in detail how they saw shadowy figures hovering over their beds, as well as suffering from recurrent nightmares about witnessing their motherβs or father's brutal murder?
Why do we have other children at just five years old when being brought to the attention of child protection?
Why do we have stories being told in the news such as the one below:
"I'm really not safe here and it's really scary β¦ [Mum] can get really bad and scream and bash her head against the walls and I love her and she can be nice and she buys me things and really does care about me and love me but like what I've been through [with her] I really need support β¦ I don't know if that's good information or not but I thought it might help you guys understand that it's not like one huge thing that stops me from being okay here it's a lot of little things as well."
β A child who witnessed her mother stab herself wrote this to her Child Protection worker. Child Protection closed the case. The child died by su***de two weeks later.
It is a RIGHT for children to have a safe and happy home, NOT a privilege! One's childhood often paves the way for the future and yet we punish, blame, criticise, talk down to and label when these KIDS are MORE LIKELY to end up in jail than graduate highschool...
It is a privilege for us to give back!
So why do we really turn a blind eye to the truth when WE have the power to make a difference?
Why do we turn a blind eye to the truth when some of our children believe that their past defines them and they are unseen, unheard and unwanted...
Two days in the life of an artist...
I though I would share this journey with y'all!
