Karting Queensland have been successful in receiving a State Active Industry Base Fund grant via the Department of Tourism, Innovation & Sport. The grant received will provide some very exciting opportunities for training & support for all our Member clubs commencing early 2024. Well the the 8th running of the Tony Lovasi Memorial has been run and won, and this year we decided to switch it up with the Inaugural Enduro Race Meeting!!

What a day it was, all weather conditions were thrown at it and as Carol Lovasi said in the morning, Tony was looking on us and throwing us something to make things interesting!

A huge congrats to all drivers and to the pitcrews who made it all possible! There were some great strategies and some heartbreaking stories along the way.

As always a huge amount of effort and time has been put into running this race meeting, so many volunteer hours we really do appreciate all the help from everyone!

📆 Date: Saturday, 25th November
📍 Venue: Townsville Kart Club
🎟️ Entry: Absolutely FREE! Come and cheer on your favourite racers!

🔦 Friday Practice Night Lights Up!

- Practice tickets WILL NEEDto be purchased by heading to the club website (those with yearly tickets do not)
- You will need to LOG ON TO KOMP PRIOR TO PRACTICE
- The track will be illuminated as the lights will be turned on for a spectacular night-time practice session.
- Scales will be operational to ensure all karts meet the requirements - EARLY WEIGH IN WILL SAVE TIME SATURDAY!
- Sausage & Bread will be available to keep the hunger at bay during the practice sessions.
- Bar facilities will be open for spectators and participants to enjoy post-practice (Please note: The bar is available to non-drivers and participants only until after the event).

2024 AKC Regulations have been released, some changes have been made so anyone considering AKC, check out the details!

Karting Australia has published the Sporting Regulations for the 2024 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship.

The Regulations confirm the dates, venues and Classes for the 2024 Championship along with various other articles surrounding the Events. The award is part of the Australian Sports Commission’s dedication to championing the role of volunteers. Presented by Volunteering Australia, the award recognises volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to sporting organisations, clubs, teams or programs over the past year.

Inaugural recipient, Nicole Williams took out last year’s honours for her outstanding contribution to cricket and her work raising awareness about the role of volunteers.

CLASS/WEIGHT:

Cadets: 220kg (Dual Kart team)
Example: Driver 1 (115kg) + Driver 2 (105kg)
Junior: 288kg (Dual Kart team)
Example: Driver 1 (150kg) + Driver 2 (138kg)
Seniors: 330kg (Single Kart team)
Example: Driver 1 (160kg) + Driver 2 (170kg)
📌 All must attend weigh-in as per schedule. Karts & drivers weighed without fuel.

RACE FORMATS:

Cadet: 150min, 1 set KA tyre, min. 4 pitstops (5min each). No double stints. Driver & kart change every pitstop.
Junior: 180min, 1 set KA tyre, min. 6 pitstops (5min each). No double stints. Driver & kart change every pitstop.
Senior: 180min, 1 set KA tyre, min. 6 pitstops (5min each). No double stints. Driver change every pitstop.
