A story by the Bulletin about the life of Dr Farvardin Daliri. The Townsville Memorial service will be tomorrow Saturday 20th July at 1pm at the Bahai Community Centre 65 Morey Street.
Please join us if you’re in Townsville. Come share stories, say prayers, sing songs. This is the community’s opportunity to celebrate his life.
Hello Dear Friends of Townsville, after a lifetime of service to Australia, we will be celebrating the life of our beloved Dr Farvardin with a ceremony at the Townsville Baha'i Community Centre at 65 Morey Street, South Townsville next Saturday 20th of July at 1pm.
This is open to anyone and everyone, friend, colleague or admirer, of our dear father and husband, and we welcome all who would like to join us for the celebration of the life of this stalwart champion of peace, unity, justice and harmony.
Please share this news and invite everyone from the Cultural Fest community, Carnival of Joy, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island First Nations communities, and the migrant and refugee communities Dr Daliri worked with and served throughout the almost 30 years he served as the leader of the Migrant Resource Centre / Townsville Intercultural Centre.
If you’re receiving friend requests from new accounts called “Farvardin Daliri” or Farvardin Daliri Memorial Service, etc please report the scammers and ask Facebook to remove the accounts.
Our Beloved Dr Farvardin Daliri, faithful servant of the Blessed Beauty has winged his flight to the Abha Kingdom and is soaring in the realm of eternity.
The celebration of his life will be held at 11AM on Thursday 30th of May, at East Chapel, Mt Thompson Memorial Gardens, 329 Nursery Road, Holland Park, Brisbane.
The service will be followed by laying his blessed body to rest at 1:15 PM at Mt Gravatt Cemetery, 620 Mains Road, Nathan, Brisbane. Please be there with us.
Our dear husband, beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather will be remembered with love and admiration for his dedication to the service of humanity and the cause of the Blessed Beauty, Bahá’u’lláh, which he served relentlessly with love, compassion, creativity, steadfastness, courage and utter selflessness.
His commitment to the Baha’i principles of Unity, Justice, Equality, Harmony, Fellowship and Joy was brilliantly evident in every moment of his life.
Right until the last moments of his earthly existence he served humanity and his family with equal ferver and a brilliance that will resound and reverberate through this world for generations to come.
From his imprisonment as a teenager for teaching the Baha’i principles in Iran, to the 100s of community schools he established in rural India in his 20s, to the Order of Australia medal for his service to Multiculturalism and Community Development in Australia, to his prolific artistic contributions across this country, to his unflinching advocacy for the rights and sovereignty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to his renowned intolerance for injustice and inequity, to his continual prayers for any person who ever needed them without them even knowing; the example of his life is a standard that we will struggle to match as his surviving family members.
Farvardin was a friend to ALL of humanity and a father to 1000s upon 1000s of people young and old across the world. His generous mentorship, effortless heartfelt guidance and unmatched wisdom, zest for the simple joys of life and insistent events, festivals and conferences for Unity in Diversity have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands.
Please pray for the safe passage and continuous progress of his beautiful and gentle soul to the next world of God.
Please do not feel the need to wear black and instead adorn yourselves with colourful attire and radiant faces as we celebrate our beloved Farvardin.
