Ede Events is looking for an Admin & Event Assistant for our busy upcoming events season. This position works closely with our Event Managers to deliver administrative support & excellent customer service to the biggest festivals, weddings & events in North Queensland.

Event industry experience is valued, but not a requirement for this position. (We will teach you everything you need to know).
KEY DUTIES
- Answer phone & email enquiries

Casual role 30-38 Hours per week for our busy events season with opportunity to transition to permanent employment at the end of season for the right candidate.
Onsite work on weekends / after hours is required but most of the hours worked will be in business hours Monday to Friday.
A driver’s licence is a requirement for this position.

On Saturday afternoon we received a call from the police - they had a hunch as to the whereabouts of our beloved Grinch. They visited a house in Townsville late yesterday and LOW AND BEHOLD there was our green boy! A little graffitied, a couple of mushroom stickers on his hat and in 3 pieces, but definitely our Grinch! The damage is nothing that we can't fix and his dog Max is delighted to have him home 💚💚💚

We are doing it Townsville! Thanks to your shares, we have received some footage of the culprits! You can fuzzily see our green boy being loaded into this silver SUV at approximately 2am on December 12th. On Keane Street headed toward McDonalds the Lakes.
What car enthusiast can give us the make and model of this car?! Is it a stolen vehicle? Or did some teens borrow mum's car to cause us this PAIN AND DEVASTATION?! 😭

In a cruel twist of irony, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas has been stolen from the front of our shop at 44 Keane Street sometime last night. This was a custom built Grinch. Printed sheet aluminium on a steel stand. One of a Kind! He had been bringing Christmas joy to Keane Street for the last 3 years.
We want our Grinch back! Help us perform a Christmas miracle and share this post. Someone has him in their living room and is showing him off to their friends. Return our Grinch PLEASE, his dog Max misses him dreadfully.
Ede Events is seeking a Warehouse Operator / Storeperson to join our growing team.
As a Warehouse Operator, you will pick and pack orders, prepare outgoing equipment for hire and complete general maintenance of equipment.
Your typical day may be operating specialised machinery to clean marquee vinyl or picking equipment with a forklift to load onto outgoing vehicles. You will need to be physically fit and have great attention to detail.
You will work directly with the Stock Controller ensuring that equipment meets safety standards, is in good working order, and is prepared according to the schedule.
This is a full time role based in Townsville with normal hours of 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Overtime can be expected within peak periods, with occasional weekend work as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
Strong attention to detail & time management
Ability to adapt to changing conditions effectively
C Class Driving Licence
High Risk Forklift (LF) Licence (experience preferred)
Medium Rigid Licence or greater (desirable)
Experience / qualification in cabinet making / carpentry (desirable)

What's your role at Ede Events and what do you love most about it?
- I am the General Manager, so a lot of my job is liaising with our management team to ensure that everything is on track. I love all sorts of aspects of my job, but designing layouts for Major Events would have to be up there!
If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
- Efficient, Hardworking, Honest
What's your Favorite thing about working with our team?
- I am so proud of our team. They put 100% into everything they do to produce professional results that rival much bigger businesses. Even on tough days where the work gets stressful – they pull together to get it done.
Tell us about a project or achievement at Ede Events that you're really proud of.
- Ede Events sponsored a Not-For-Profit event called Q***r Candy in February 2023. It saw 650 q***r folks and allies come together to celebrate diversity at a Club Night. We brought in talent from Sydney’s Mardi Gras and World Pride which helped showcase our own local talent. It was really successful and we are planning another one for 2024

- I have a couple of 3D printers and dabble in painting miniatures for tabletop gaming. Proper nerd stuff!

Ede Events is seeking an experienced Warehouse Stock Controller to join our growing team.
As a staff forward company, Ede Events is committed to maintaining a positive and efficient team culture. Our team is a reflection of our brand, and we believe that interacting respectfully with each other and the community, as well as maintaining a professional appearance, is crucial to delivering high-quality customer service experiences.
As the Stock Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality control of outgoing hire equipment, forecasting equipment supply and demand, scheduling maintenance and repairs, and keeping accurate inventory records. You will roster and supervise your own team, ensuring that equipment meets safety standards, is in good working order, and is prepared according to the schedule.
Requirements & Qualifications
2 years experience as a stock controller, in warehousing or a similar role.

Management experience and strong leadership/people skills
