🔴 Road Worthy Certificates 🔴

When selling your vehicle/trailer you should obtain a Road Worthy Certificate before you list it for sale. We are generally fully booked 2-3 weeks in advance so we find it difficult to regularly squeeze in customers that have already sold their vehicle without a Road Worthy Certificate. Keep in mind also that repairs may be required if the vehicle fails road worthy upon inspection.

🐀 With all of this rain Rats and Mice are finding nice dry homes within the engine bay of vehicles! We are seeing a lot of vehicles with evidence of rodents so here’s a reminder to pop the bonnet and have a look around before they cause serious damage 💰

This Toyota Fortuner came in with an engine light and running rough. We found damaged wires to Injector #2 caused by a Rat! 🐀 Once in the engine, Rats chew everything and can cause significant and costly damage to a vehicle.

Just our usual reminder regarding E10 fuel 🤮 If you use E10 have a read ⬇️

E10 Fuel vs Unleaded 95, 98 ⛽

Will I save money using E10 fuel? 💰

Although E10 is the cheapest, the price difference between the fuels at the bowser doesn't translate into hip pocket savings because Ethanol (E10) has less energy per litre than petrol, meaning you need to use more of it to achieve the same outcome.

The reason E10 burns quicker than premium fuels is due to the higher octane rating of premium fuel (Unleaded 98) compared to E10 (Unleaded 91/94). So, in simple terms, the higher the number the more efficient the fuel burns.

We always reccomend NOT using E10, especially in older cars that have not been designed to run on E10 as the ethanol can cause damage to the Catalytic Converters in the exhaust system, damage to fuel lines and other parts of the fuel system, leading to longer term problems.

Pictured below is a failed Oxygen Sensor which is located below the Cat Converter in the exhaust system.

Something we see so often is contaminated fuel in vehicles. Inside this fuel filter housing is where the fuel filter sits, and it shouldn’t be this dirty. Contaminated fuel can cause thousands of dollars worth of damage to the vehicles engine and other components.
