RINGERS WANTED!!! Hey guys, we are about to start our muster and we are short a few hands. My little brother Jake asked me to use some social media power to gather some man power. This so not a drill, we are seriously looking for about 3 people for 2weeks and very soon!Ringers needed for short term stock work at our family Station, half hour North of Hughenden, QLD, 24th April- 7th May You will be paid a competitive daily rate according to skill level Please apply if you -have some experience working with cattle -confident riding a bike as the terrain can be difficult to navigate at times. Motorbike and chopper work only (can bring horses but no work for them) Includes:. Accommodation is an Air conditioned, single bedroom with your own bathroom and toilet. Shared living area. All meals. Some travel expenses are covered . Phone Reception at living quarters Preferably . No pig dogs . Your own bike. ABNu. 2 way (handheld radio)
Holy smokes…where to even begin. The last 2 weeks have felt crazy…or more to the point, I’ve been going crazy. Let me be vulnerable and let you behind the scenes. We had just decided to extend our reach to the southern states and had begun those conversations when…..we got ‘dumped’ by our cold freight company, as they can no longer sustain the smaller businesses (fair enough, everyone has to make their business work). I had my work cut out for me. I have called far and wide trying to find a way to continue to move our stock to Brisbane but all the way from Darwin to Melbourne, I have had no luck. I’ve probably called about 52 companies, some that run freight and some that just might know something about something, each with a lead or 3 for me to follow to the same old ‘sorry we can’t help’ It’s been a bloody mission! After exhausting all of the options we decided to hire a truck, loaded it up and we found a trustworthy friend and sent him on his way to Brisbane. This was not without dramas either. This comes at a cost that is not financially sustainable to our business. We are just clinging to our last resort to keep our products on south QLD shelves to buy us enough time to find a better way. I’m still no closer to a solution but I’m quite certain that I don’t want to start running logistics after planning this one trip….yet at this point buying a truck is looking like the only option. To be honest, I’d rather not, so if you (lovely reader thankyou for reading this far), have any ideas or contacts, please please reach out!!
