HOW TO LIKE YOURSELF
Relationships, health, money/career, social life all used to feel like a struggle for me because my lack of self-worth sabotaged them all ๐
I knew I had to start liking myself to improve my life, but trying everything I could think of still didn't work ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I was desperate to change but I was getting nowhere ๐ฉ
Eventually I found a way to improve my self-image that felt natural, easy, and logical.
The key was to start by getting to know myself๐ง
I've put together a talk for people who are interested in hearing about a new approach to self-esteem that doesn't feel fake or icky.
See the comments if you'd like to join me ๐ค
Today I ran a Mind-Body Connection workshop in Maroochydore for a beautiful group of ladies.
After the exercises, we had reports of:
- relief of head pain
- elimination of a squeamish stomach
- looser neck
- less pressure in hips
- general relaxation
- energy buzzing in the body
Just from a little bit of movement and body awareness??
Yes! ๐ฅณ
If you have a group that you feel could benefit from learning about the Mind-Body connection, please reach out - I'd love to share my workshop with them. Currently I can work with all budgets, too ๐ฉต
Thanks to the fabulous Celena Ross for bringing such a beautiful group of people together today ๐
Conscious Life Events Festival was an absolute hoot earlier this month!
I loved sharing my seminar, "Healing your Body with your Mind" with the festival goers. I spoke about the inner workings of the mind-body connection and how we can use it as a superpower to manage stress and emotions, hear the whispers of our body and to optimise health and vitality ๐
As always, there was a fantastic array of speakers, facilitators, musicians, psychics and exhibitors with their magic creations and offerings over the weekend.
If you couldn't make it this time, I highly recommend that you keep an eye out for next year's announcement. I've got a feeling it's going to be even better! โจ
I'm speaking tomorrow at Conscious Life Events Festival, and it's right after my friend Katie!
Find us at Venue 114 in Bokarina, 114 Sportsmans Parade.
The whole weekend has a phenomenal lineup of everyone from holistic health practitioners, to psychics, to sound healers... there's a hall full of stalls and tasty food!
If you didn't manage to get a ticket to my body awareness workshops, this is a great opportunity to join me live for a (hopefully) fun and eye-opening presentation!
See you there

Conflict, when met with emotional maturity, strengthens relationships ๐
This morning, I was booked into a trial yoga class with a new studio.
I tried to squeeze in too many things before class and arrived 5 minutes late ๐ฌ
Instead of starting the class and having me sneak in late, the teacher had waited for me and a full room of participants were seated on their mats, ready to go ๐ฑ I felt terrible!
As I peeked inside the door, I saw someone moving their mat aside at the far end of the packed room and my head went into a spin ๐ตโ๐ซ
"I've wasted ALL of their time!"
"They're going to see me walking in and will know it's my fault!"
"I booked in - why isn't there space for me??"
For the first time in a long time, I felt the grip of anxiety in my throat and chest, and made a split-second decision to bail on the class ๐ฅ
Once I'd calmed myself down, I realised it hadn't been that big of a big deal, although it definitely felt too late to walk in now...
So I sent an email to the studio which was part apology, part questioning about why the room was so full when I'd booked ahead.
I spent 40 minutes writing and re-reading it to ensure that I wasn't trying to cover my shame with anger or blame ๐ฉต
Soon after, I got the most beautiful reply email offering both understanding and a clear response to my questions, plus they'd given my class credit back, which they didn't have to do.
She even tried to call me to make sure I was OK ๐ฅฐ
I was ready to say goodbye to this studio forever, until I got that open-hearted response.
Thanks to their choice to respond with kindness rather than defensiveness, I now have a lot of of trust in them and can't wait to go back!
Good times in relationships are fun, but I think it's during the challenges that we really get to see what each other are made of.
Rather than arguing over "who's right", which divides us, having a conversation to deepen understanding brings us together ๐๐
Good news! ๐

Maui is one of my favourite places in the world. They've not only been devastated by bushfires, but the rest of the island is suffering because tourists are cancelling plans to visit, leaving the remainder of the locals' livelihoods at risk, too.
My beautiful friend, Tiffany Snyder and her husband Curtis live on Maui and they're putting everything they have into supporting the bushfire victims, even though their own business has been greatly affected.
This fundraiser is to help their daily effort to get supplies to those directly affected by the fires.
I'm often sceptical about fundraisers, but I can confidently say your donated money will be sent to those who need it most through the loving hands of my friends, the Snyders ๐
Thanks for spreading the love ๐
Maui Fires Fundraiser, organized by Tiffany Snyder Hi, we are Tiff and Curtis Snyder and we live on Maui. We are asking for $10 donations so that wโฆ Tiffany Snyder needs your support for Maui Fires Fundraiser
It took a while, but I'm mostly ๐ with a bit of ๐ here and there in my blind spots!
I'm glad I discovered that books are useful in my mid-30s. Better late than never, right?
When we booked 3 weeks in Bali I thought: "I'm finally going to finish writing my books ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ!"
The first time I sat down to work on the depression-busting guide (which I stopped work on a few years ago), I realised that it was kinda s**t ๐
I battled for several hours to make it more interesting and less haphazard... but it was pretty much unsalvageable ๐ญ
So I did some reading (Dan Millman) to get my mind off it, and the book was 1000x better than anything I could write ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
I was DEEP in stage 4 ๐คช๐ซ
So the next morning, I sat down and wrote dot points for a better way the book could flow...
Suddenly, chunks of the "unsalvageable" document started fitting in ๐ฅณ
I'm glad I've learned enough about the creative process that I can now recognise thinking I'm s**t as "just a phase" ๐
Have you fought similar battles in your creative process?
I've been studying the mind-body connection and psychosomatics for 10 years ๐ค๐คฏ
One of my most important discoveries is the danger of the black and white "this means that" mentality ๐
For example:
- Right shoulder? You've got anger.
- Lower Back? You feel unsupported.
๐ Please, stop doing that!!!
Understanding that our body represents our mind state can be helpful in showing us where we're out of balance, but NOT when we're making an assumption without listening for what else may be present...
When we think we "know" something, we're immediately blinding ourselves to other (often much more accurate) possibilities! ๐
In short: ๐
Rather than making a quick assumption based on other people's ideas, the fast-track to accurate interpretation of symptoms is:
TAKING A QUIET MOMENT TO LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!
That is all ๐
Reminder: Not everything has to mean something
Even though I'm trained in reading how physical bodies represent our mental and emotional selves... and even though I've studied lifestyle medicine and have seen beyond standard medical explanations for various ailments... ๐งฌ๐ฉบ๐
I'm reminded to not get too carried away with "meaning making" for unwanted symptoms ๐
โโ๏ธ
Example:
After starting a running program last year, I struggled with tight calves for months to the point that I had to stop running altogether ๐ฃ
Metaphysically, our calves represent our ability to propel ourselves forward in life, and in part demonstrate how grounded we are, and where we belong in our community. Some teachers say they represent past lives.
I'd been pondering what might be going on for several months without getting any "real" answers. One day I decided to sit down and ask my higher self some direct questions ๐
(As I've practiced listening to my body so much, I can ask myself deeper questions and always get answers. Remembering to ask is the hard part ๐คฆโโ๏ธ)
I asked: "Is there some blind spot in my psyche that's creating this calf tightness?"
Response: "No."
Me: "Is this an event from my past that I need to process?"
Response: "No."
Me: "Do I need to cut something out of my diet so my calves can feel better?"
Response: "No."
Me: "Is there something in my environment that's contributing to this tension in my body?"
Response: "Nope."
I wondered what else it could possibly be.
Then it dawned on me! ๐ฎ๐ก
Me: "Do I need to stretch my legs?"
Response: THAT'S IT!!!"
๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐๐๐
It seemed so obvious! But my focus on all of that "knowledge" was getting in the way of the simple wisdom that was right in front of me. The tension left in a few days and I started running again ๐
Finding answers doesn't have to be hard.
..But it will always be as hard as we make it ๐
Camileon's first Spartan race ๐ช๐
In 2019, I watched Matt do very well in our local Spartan race and I thought, "That looks kinda fun."
Then, y'know... Events didn't happen for quite a while ๐ฆ
This year, I decided to sign up and give an event on the Gold Coast a go, even though I didn't feel ready AT ALL!
My gosh, it was FUN! The streams were fresh, the mud was hekkas, and the people were in great spirits ๐
HIGHLIGHTS:
1. Being terrified of one particular obstacle for a whole 24 hours, then finishing the race and realising I didn't even have to do it in the 5k ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
2. Jumping into an ankle-deep puddle which was actually chest deep ๐ณ
3. Seeing Matt in his element - kicking ass just by showing up ๐
4. Also seeing Matt have DOMS for the first time I can remember (he didn't train) ๐
I reckon I might do another. You're welcome to join, of course ๐
At my seminar tonight someone asked an EXCELLENT question about where to get started when you've had an injury in the past which has now become chronic, and you have a feeling there is some emotional involvement in why it won't heal.
Practising body awareness is one of many ways that the path to healing can be revealed to you.
I invite you to try this meditation for a few days and see what you notice...
๐๐งโโ๏ธ
Meditation for Pain Relief Body Intelligence Scan A powerful practice for reconnecting with your body and creating stress reduction through mindfulness, body scan meditations can improve health and decrease ...
So many people "live for the weekend" or "survive until their next vacation."
I don't believe that life has to be like that.
Learning to understand the signals coming from my body has helped me create a life I don't need a holiday from...
.and interestingly, now that I don't "need" holidays to survive, I'm enjoying more of them than ever! ๐ด
One of the biggest breakthroughs has been coming to a better understanding of my relationship with STRESS.
This is always a huge topic when I'm working with clients, too.
That's why I'm offering a FREE seminar at next Wednesday 24th on understanding stress and resilience ๐๐
We'll be doing some somatic processes, some perception shifing, and maybe even some jokes ๐
Send me a DM if you'd like to book your seat!
I used to think that stress was something that would come at me out of the blue, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
I thought it was inevitable when life threw curve balls at me (which seemed to be quite frequent back in the day! ๐คช)
But then I learned that stress can be a response, but more often, it's a habit ๐ณ
I would wake up every morning worrying about how my bills would get paid or about that stupid thing I said last week.
Something unexpected would happen during my day, and it would send me into a tailspin ๐จ
This was something I'd LEARNED, and therefore it was something I could UN-LEARN ๐ฅณ
I got informed, changed my perspectives and began to master my own emotional state ๐ชโค๏ธ
If you'd like to learn how you can stop feeling out of control when it comes to stress, I'm hosting a free seminar at the Nambour The Chi Hub next Wednesday the 24th of May.
Bookings are essential, so if you can't find the event here on Fb send me a DM and I'll forward you the ticket link!
I hope to see you there โบ๏ธ
What if we've come into life with a list of lessons we wanted to learn through experience..?
What if every challenge we encounter is actually the universe lovingly bringing our attention to the exact areas we asked to learn about, before our ego got involved and told us that discomfort is bad?
Maybe our "problems" were built especially for us.
Perhaps if we zoomed out a little, we'd see that they're not so scary.
..and when we change our perspective, we can turn problems into opportunities that couldn't have been accessed through a life that is easy ๐
THIS THURSDAY! The Chi Hub ๐ฅณ
Learn how to listen to your body, tune into your intuition and live a life you've dreamed of!
We'll be practising actual processes during the seminar so you can experience your own wonderful superpowers right away ๐ฅณ
Bookings are essential, so send me a DM or find the event on my page to secure your seat ๐
Struggling with pain or illness?
Repeating negative patterns in your life?
There's a lesson in every struggle.
It's just up to us to learn how to hear it ๐
When pain or illness won't go away with conventional treatment, it's because one of these levels is being missed ๐
Are you aware of all of these areas in your life, or do you only pay attention to your physical body when something is "physically" wrong? ๐
At my upcoming Body Communication seminar at Nambour The Chi Hub, I'll share how to tune into all of the layers of health so we can heal and prevent illness ๐ฅณ
Comment or DM for more details!
Graphic is from my "The Secret Reason That Pain Comes Back" eBook ๐
HOW MANY OF THESE FACES DO YOU RECOGNISE? ๐
This is just a handful of the teachers whose work I've studied over the years ๐ค
I used to believe Doctors when they said there is "no cure" for something. It left me feeling utterly powerless.
Now, after being introduced to these people's teachings and more, I know there's so much more to us than what can be measured by a blood test or an X-ray ๐ฉป
We are energetic beings who perceive and respond to an environment. Often we are too zoomed in or too zoomed out to see what's really causing our pain ๐ฉ
After hundreds of hours of study, I found out where we can find and cure the root of all of our problems.
..and that's exactly what I'll be covering in my free seminar at Nambour The Chi Hub next Thursday evening.
Check out the event I've listed to book a seat!
Know you could be healthier / happier but haven't gotten around to doing what it takes? ๐
I've got a seminar coming up which is aimed to motivate you to get started on being the new you, NOW! ๐ฅณ
If you're on the Sunny Coast, join me at Nambour on April 27 at 6:30pm for a seminar on how our minds determine our health outcomes ๐ค๐คฉ๐คธโโ๏ธ
There might even be funny jokes. Might be ๐
I'm appreciating this gold from Caroline Myss about beliefs that can delay or prevent healing ๐
(From her book Why People Don't Heal and How they Can)
UGH! ๐ฎโ๐จ One aspect of western medicine that I'm NOT a fan of is how it's instilled this belief in us that pain or illness is a PROBLEM that can be fixed with a PILL (or surgery!)
(Talking about the funny, yet concerning attitude of the patient in the above pic...๐)
Read: "This bad thing is out of your control but you can get rid of it without changing a thing about your life or mindset"...
Hmmm ๐คจ
I'm all for using biological science to our advantage, but we MUST stop buying into this notion that our issues have nothing to do with:
๐ฅ How we think
๐ฅ What we eat and drink
๐ฅ Our sleep quality
๐ฅ How we move & breathe
๐ฅ Our environment
This has been shown in science, too. It's called epigenetics and psychoneuroimmunology.
Until I learned about these other influences on health, recurring pain just didn't make sense to me as a physio ๐ค
But I now know that PAIN AND ILLNESS IS A MESSAGE!! (Yes, I'm yelling ๐)
โผ๏ธ It's telling us something โผ๏ธ
And it might be just me, but I don't think our body is usually saying "Please take more pills and continue believing you're a worthless piece of sh*t."๐คทโโ๏ธ
I guess I'm fired up today ha! ๐๐
When someone is ready to take responsibility for their health (including their mind), only then can they begin truly healing.
Look at all these gorgeous beings who made their way to my seminar at festival on the weekend! ๐
It was wonderful to be presenting again, sharing somatic and mindfulness processes to supercharge our health and MUCH more! ๐
I feel very lucky to be able to meet all of these incredible people who know there's so much more to health than meets the eye ๐
I've run up against a few obstacles while preparing for my seminar this weekend (mostly my own mind) ๐
..but it's been cool to see the way my friends and family have responded when I told them I'm not ready!
"I know it will be great"
"You inspire people with your energy alone"
"Even if you did the same talk from last year I'd love it"
They BELIEVE in me, and their believing helps me move towards that reality! ๐ฅณ
And this weekend at the festival, even if you don't believe your body can heal, I'm going to lend you my belief until you do ๐
.. you know what happens then?
๐คทโโ๏ธ I guess you'll have to find out tomorrow! (1:15pm at the Conscious Life Festival, outdoor seminar space is the place to be ๐)
I'm speaking at the Conscious Life Festival next weekend and I'm VERY EXCITED to be sharing new info on the mind body connection inspired by wisdom from and Caroline Myss.
I'll show you how our energy determines our health and life circumstances, and how we can intentionally create vitality and abundance with our awareness ๐ฅณ
We'll also be going through some somatic practices to supercharge your manifesting skills ๐ช๐
Ever grateful to for organising these incredible festivals and for having me in the program for the last three years ๐๐
Resilience doesn't mean absence of feeling challenged. It means being skilled at managing during challenging times.
I've realised I can't say I've beaten "depression" (I use this word for communication but I don't believe it's a thing in my experience... a story for another post ๐
)
...I can't predict what will happen in the future and what kinds of challenges I'll encounter.
What I DO know is that I'm constantly getting better at managing my mind and body during harder times ๐ค
I'm getting better at asking for help, trusting that it will be over, and remembering to keep a broader perspective so I don't believe my thoughts when everything seems bad.
It appears that the better I get at coping with challenge, the more I get to enjoy the joyful times, too ๐ฅฐ
About The Body Interpreter
Iโm Camille Walrath, The Body Interpreter.
I spent years repeatedly burning myself out working as a Physiotherapist until I made a life-changing discovery. I noticed that the body talks to us through symptoms, and if we listen to the deeper message and change the necessary habits and beliefs, the corresponding problems will evaporate.
I applied this to my own life, and introduced coaching into my consultations with incredible results. Now I use my body interpretation skills to help people understand and accept what their symptoms are communicating, giving them the power to completely transform their health and life from within.
