Once at home at Mulawa, it took some settling in for FAME MAKER to adjust to his new surroundings and lifestyle. “FAME MAKER arrived in Australia totally over the machine like standup and inability to express himself”, shares Greg. “It took time and patience for FAME MAKER to really be himself and for the demons of his past experiences to subside. When he finally accepted that the show ring was his place to ‘shine’, he never looked back.”
Julie remembers some moments with FAME MAKER soon after his arrival as more of a struggle than a partnership. “He proved to all us how incredibly kind and intelligent he was”, recalls Julie, “once he realised that we were all there to help him adjust, with patience and compassion, to his new way of living.”
“It was incredibly rewarding to watch FAME MAKER develop into a wonderfully relaxed and happy stallion once at home at Mulawa”, Jane explains. “He never lost his ‘fire’ in the process, and always loved to put on one hell of a show, which was one of the primary reasons we were drawn to him as young horse. It gives us great pleasure to know that FAME MAKER had such a great life in Oz for 23 years. It was a privilege to see him happy, settled and content every day in himself and his surroundings. He became quite the cuddler and carrot lover as he matured, and an enduring Team Mulawa & Mulawa Community favourite.”
