🌿🎨 Celebrating Environmental Stewardship! 🌏🎨
At Perrott Painting, we’re proud to be part of the Paintback program, contributing to a greener future. 🎨🌿
Paintback is Australia’s official product stewardship initiative for paint. Here’s how it works:
Collection Points: Bring your unwanted paint and packaging to a Paintback collection point. The program covers transport, collection, and treatment costs through a levy on eligible paint products.
Research & Innovation: Paintback invests in R&D to find better ways to manage unwanted paint. Some exciting areas include:
1. Plastic Pails: Transforming plastic paint pails into valuable products.
2. Chemical Extraction: Recovering valuable chemicals from water-based paint.
3. Geopolymer Concrete: Using paint ingredients for eco-friendly concrete.
4. Dust Suppressants: Replacing virgin materials.
5. High-Performance Composites: Creating construction materials.
By participating, we’re part of a circular economy, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. 🌿🌏

🤩 Another amazing projected completed 🤩
The exterior repainting project at 9 Bowman Street in South Perth was executed earlier this year. The scope of works ranged from fascia, walls, eaves, posts, some guttering, services doors & door frames along with some structural steel elements that needed specific attention to detail. High-quality Dulux Australia paint was used, ensuring durability. The application process followed a structured approach, and swing stage scaffolding was deployed to access higher sections of the building. Color consultations were engaged to align with the client’s preferences, resulting in a harmonious selection ending in subtle enhances to improve the property’s street appeal. The end result is a well-executed exterior paint job not only enhances the properties aesthetics but also contributes to the properties longevity.
✨ Another amazing client testimonial for work completed at Seton Catholic College✨
“I have the pleasure in providing this written testimonial giving an insight into my experience with Perrott Painting. Perrott Painting have been responsible for the external management of the College since 2014 and have produced a very high standard of work at a competitive price in that time. Specifically:
- The trades’ people used on site act professionally and courteously which is very important in a school environment.
- The site-supervisor communicated directly with me on a timely basis as to scheduling, progress and completion.
- The Management team frequently seeks feedback as to my satisfaction with the service.
- The site is left in a clean and tidy state at the completion of all work.
- Perrott Painting work around our preferred timeframe which necessitates their trades’ people working over the Christmas Period. The standard of work cannot be faulted.
I would be more than happy to speak about my experiences personally to anyone considering using their services”

✨PROJECT SPOTLIGHT ✨
Our ongoing external repaint project at Eden Apartments in South Perth is making excellent progress.
We're honored to have been chosen by the property owners to rejuvenate all previously painted external surfaces across the two high-rise apartment towers.
Utilizing Dulux Acratex elastomeric membrane, we're not only enhancing the aesthetics but also providing superior protection to all masonry surfaces.
For those travelling along the Kwinana Freeway, keep an eye out for our team diligently working on the swing stage!
Lest we forget
🤩 Charles Riley Sporting Complex 🤩
Perrott Painting recently concluded a comprehensive exterior repaint project at the Charles Riley Sporting Complex. Led by our diligent Project Manager, Darren, and Leading Hand, Troy, the process began with a specific pre-start meeting planning out the preparation & application methods, product coating sequences, access methods, work zones & timelines. Subsequently, a thorough preparation procedure was carried out, involving meticulous washing of the building and spot priming, before the specific coating sequences were implemented.
The project spanned over 5 weeks, during which our skilled painters worked in carefully planned stages to create safe works zones with the public wellbeing kept at a high priority. This approach allowed us to optimize the use of our Elevated Work Platforms (EWP) and Scissor Lifts in a safe and productive manner. The colour scheme was carefully selected by the client prior to commencement. Products selected were Taubmans Australia products both from the traditional Premium Architectural ranges of products and the specific specialized Industrial Protective Coatings product ranges.
Wishing our clients and friends a happy and safe Easter!

NON-SACRIFICIAL ANTI-GRAFFITI PRODUCTS
Non-sacrificial anti-graffiti products fall into two categories – invisible surface treatments, or permanent two-pack coatings that normally do not require reapplication after graffiti removal. Non-sacrificial surface treatments do not form a film – they chemically modify the surface tension of the substrate, lowering the adhesion of any graffiti applied after treatment. The graffiti is then removed relatively easily by medium to high pressure hot water wash. Permanent two-pack coatings, on the other hand, form a very hard, protective film over the substrate, and are either pigmented or clear. Clear two-pack anti-graffiti coatings impart a distinct gloss or sheen and can slightly darken some substrates such as concrete or bluestone (much like wet concrete looks darker than dry concrete). This change in substrate appearance is only an issue if the coating is not applied on the entire wall, but only up to a certain height. Graffiti is generally removed from two-pack coatings using graffiti removal agents (solvents) that dissolve everything but the two-pack coating.
Practicality of Repainting Over Graffiti
For property owners and managers dealing with graffiti, there's often a decision to make: should you invest in anti-graffiti coatings or opt for the simpler route of repainting over the graffiti? Let's discuss the practicality of the latter approach.
Cost-Efficient: Repainting can be a cost-effective solution, especially for surfaces with limited graffiti occurrences. It's a quick fix that can save you money, compared to the initial investment required for anti-graffiti coatings.
Time-Saving: Time is often of the essence when it comes to graffiti removal. Repainting is a fast solution, ensuring your property maintains a clean and professional appearance with minimal downtime.
Fresh Look: Repainting provides a fresh look, which can enhance the aesthetics of your property. It's an opportunity to update and refresh your building's appearance.
Deterrence: The sight of graffiti can attract more graffiti. Quickly repainting sends a signal that vandalism won't be tolerated, potentially deterring vandals from targeting your property in the future.
Environmentally Friendly: Using environmentally friendly paints can make the repainting process more sustainable. Consider low-VOC or eco-friendly options.
Remember, the choice between repainting and anti-graffiti coatings depends on your property's unique circumstances. Feel free to reach out to us for guidance on the most practical approach for your specific needs.

Anti Graffiti 🖌
SACRIFICIAL TREATMENTS
Sacrificial treatments are usually clear, thin film emulsions or solutions applied to the surface to be protected. They may be applied directly over the bare substrate, or over other types of coatings. When defaced, the sacrificial coating is completely removed (usually by hot water blast) and a new coating is immediately reapplied.
SEMI-SACRIFICIAL COATINGS Semi-sacrificial coatings are high build coatings (usually acrylics) that shed a few microns each time the graffiti is scrubbed off. After several cleaning cycles, and before the coating is completely worn away, further coats are reapplied to restore the original appearance.
Unlock the architectural nuances of paint – did you know it's more than color? It's a strategic tool for spatial refinement! 🎨🖌
Accent Elegance: A strategically chosen accent wall not only adds visual interest but alters the perceived dimensions, lending an air of sophistication and depth.
Seamless Continuity: Consistent tones on adjoining walls create a harmonious flow, fostering an expansive, cohesive atmosphere, enhancing the overall spatial experience.
Depth by Design: Introduce darker hues selectively to enhance shadows and contours, crafting an environment that exudes refinement and a nuanced sense of scale.
Reflective Precision: Mirrors on painted walls optimize natural light, bestowing an illusion of increased square footage, elevating both aesthetics and functionality.
Our team had the pleasure of attending the Master Painters & Decorators Australia Awards for Excellence dinner on Saturday night at Pan Pacific Perth.
We are delighted to share that our repaint project at "The Leighton" in North Fremantle was the winner of the prestigious MP&DA Award for Excellence in the Repaints Category - Value Over $100,000.
Thank you to the award sponsor, DuluxGroup, to the esteemed judges, and of course to our exceptional team at Perrott Painting for their unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding (award-winning) results for our clients.
Congratulations to all the winners, and sincere thanks to MP&DA, event staff, and sponsors for orchestrating another successful event.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.
WHAT ARE “ANTI-GRAFFITI” PRODUCTS? 🤔
“Anti-graffiti” products are coatings or surface treatments used in graffiti-prone areas for the prevention of permanent adhesion of graffiti to the substrate. Note that “anti-graffiti” does not mean that the coating somehow prevents graffiti from being applied to it. If only this were possible! It refers to coatings that allow graffiti to be removed quickly and efficiently to discourage the reappearance of graffiti. Due to the plethora of graffiti media and the wide range of painted and unpainted surfaces to which graffiti is applied, complete removal of all graffiti cannot be guaranteed in all cases.
